In the coming AGM, must question the increase of impairment of trade receivables from 58m to 101m in FA 2019. I thought the management has tighten the credit control in the past. What had happened in 2019?

The 27 units left was obtained from URA website (may not updated yet). After TOP, only another 25% progress payment will be collected and recognized and at CSC another 15%. In the coming FA20, I expect div pay out of between 0.01 to 0.012.

I also saw an agent advertising last 6 units. I think the remaining units available for sale is closer to 6 than 27. :)

The family is ultra conservative in running SHL and SIF. That' s why 0.0185 is considered as " Not Bad" liao. In the last AGM, management shown the efforts to bid for lands, but bidded too low.

Key points:
Net profit rises 306.8% to at least 11 year high of $45.4m EPS $0.1131. Dividends still stingy at $0.0185 but nonetheless also an at least 11 year high.
This is despite writing down $6.6m for the Aussie Hotel. Otherwise, net profit would have hit > $50m as our bro had been expecting earlier haha. The hotel still managed gross rental income of $6.1m so I wonder if the write down is a little too harsh?
Net Asset Value rises to $0.7370. the main components are the Freehold Aussie Hotel and 43 Industrial units at Biztech Centre worth $0.3016 and the current residual value of Parc Botannia at $0.4217.
By my estimates, about 54% of the revenue at Parc Botannia has been recognized. There' s 46% more to recognize till the project TOPs, likely later this year or early next year. Using the same conservative margins, that would be a further $0.13 EPS at least. Hopefully margins are higher as we edge closer to TOP.

Was at the AGM side talk with the management, but missed the EGM recently. Quite sure lots of shareholders will check up on the Osaka issue in the coming AGM, must attend. Hope Mr Toh doesn' t waste everybody' s time by asking his type of questions.

Just by the shere number of bidders already prove it' s more difficult there.
Osaka only one competitor, MGM.
Last year AGM, they talked very confidently about Osaka.
At the EGM, their mood were so subdued.
The confidence is no longer there.

On 12th December, Director Toh Giap Eng bought another 100,000 shares at an average price of $0.45725.
The 2 for 1 bonus issue also has a book closure date of 26th December. Not sure which day is the Ex-date though. |

It' s certainly good for the management to use the surplus liquidity to generate higher returns then the interest of the borrowings. As the earning weightage is about 1/3 of the revenue, it warrants more disclosure on these debt investments.

You may wish to look at the Executive Chairman' s statement in Annual Report 2018.
" The rising interest rate environment globally helped our investment segment last year. In FY2018, we had a net interest income of RMB1.5 billion from our investment segment, up 44.7% year-on-year. Investments accounted for almost one third of the Group&rsquo s gross profit. This segment is spearheaded by myself while the CEO leads our shipbuilding operations."
As at last 1H result, Debt Investments in both Current and Non Current Asset added up to RMB18.78b. Income from these investments accounted for 1/3 of the gross profit and yet little coverage in the AR.
