Even if Merkel doesn't do anything, US also won't let this set the world in crisis. Whether to fine or how much to fine or how to fine them are all within US's control. Doesn't make sense for US to fine DB for causing 2008 crisis while they themselves causing one while doing so.

sun233      ( Date: 30-Sep-2016 18:29) Posted:

I agree, the market has just overblown the whole situation.......anything to get the stocks down so they can buy on the cheap. Merkel will be pressured into bailing out the bank. Her refusal to do anything so far is just to shake up her country, as well so   get support from her coalition. Politics at play here. The US , Draghi and   IMF chief will all put pressure on her. to do something. These are the real big guns who will determine what will happen. Just have to ride the storm and scoop up at pullbacks. Right now a lot of smoke....wayang wayang only. Scheuble will do something.......

Deutsche Bank CEO seeks to reassure staff over market concerns

SEP 30, 20164: 36 PM
[FRANKFURT] Deutsche Bank chief executive John Cryan on Friday moved to reassure staff after shares in Germany' s largest lender hit an historic low amid renewed concerns over its stability.

Mr Cryan said he understood that employees could be unsettled by extensive speculation in the media that a few hedge fund customers had left the group but said the bank was solid and had more than 20 million customers.

" There are forces now under the way that the market that want to weaken confidence in us," Mr Cryan said in an internal letter to employees seen by Reuters.

" Our job now is to ensure that this distorted perception does not strongly affect our day-to-day business," he added.

The immediate cause of Deutsche' s current turmoil is a fine, disputed by Deutsche, of up to US $ 14 billion by the US Department of Justice over its sale of mortgage-backed securities.

Uncertainty over the outcome of that case was no reason for Deutsche Bank' s share to be under pressure, given the eventually lower settlements of similar cases by Deutsche Bank' s competitors, Mr Cryan said in the letter.

I am amazed all these analysts anyhow come out report.

Chang beer effect was at 4q 2015 and 1q 2016. 2q 2016 show the revenue an profit all drain back to 2Q 2015 level which mean the chang beer new brand effect is off.

This result this drastically drop from 1.06. People who up to date like me, shorted and earned. Those believe this report go horlan.

What is the professional of these analyst

Yes. Exactly. Quit the market till they start performing. Not that we have a choice. The market is quite dead.

We can go on griping, but nothing' s gonna help.  Best, if we can, is quit this mkt.  Why need a $3m CEO?  Heard today AGM Ah Chye kena hoot.  But is it gonna help?  No one cares it seems.

For private limited companies, there limited liability on employees or owners....if I recall correctly. Unless there's a clear intention to cheat or fraud involved.

You speak like you have worked there before or at present. :)

If I work 80 hours a month, I'll be very please. That's only 20 hours a week. Have A Good Sunday! Done with talking to u.

gavinl      ( Date: 11-Sep-2016 15:22) Posted:

SIA now has about 7700 crew. No exact figure because of some older crew retiring and others on no pay leave etc.
Employing about 1800 crew a year out of 7700+- crew not a lot???
Imagine you as a regular crew, every time you go to work and on almost every time there are newbies who don't have much experience about service and let alone how to handle situations when things don't flow smoothly. Who are going to pick up the pieces? Those regular crew right? Will it affect their morale if almost every flight those regular crew have to guide and teach those newbies and on top of that have to perform their own duties.
FYI, their working hours per month is about 85 hours. To us, is like heaven but to them is considered stretching rubber band to the max. They have to juggle the world different GMT and fight with fatigue.eg. Doing a overnight turn about flight then followed by a morning flight the following day etc etc.
On the surface expansion is good but if on a bad timing is considered good or suicidal?? World economy is slowing down. You do your sum.

From the beginning of the conversation till now, I didn't make any buy or sell calls, so don't quote me of anything ok? Lol.

pinkowl      ( Date: 11-Sep-2016 14:47) Posted:

Do you know how many crews sia has? Recruiting 4 figure a year is nothing new, though they may be recruiting more than in the past. Recruiting more sure doesn't sound like bad news to me. You prefer they cut their staff?

Why would regular crews be overworked with on-job training? Sia has to abide to employers act. Every few hours/days a crew fly will determine how many rest days they get thereafter, ensuring they dun overwork. When they are receiving training in Singapore, they sure can't be flying at the same time. Ask your cousin.

On site training is bad too in your eyes?

Very Well Said!.

Furthermore.right now SIA is recruiting flight attandants like crazy.Think their target is about 1800 a year. So desperate until i heard they even go to Malaysia kampung to recruit..

Bad planning again, all of a sudden to recruit so many ppl,can imagine the standard of the flight crew? Regular flight crew will be over worked because of the training.Expect the already dropping SIA standard to drop further the next time i fly with them . Already their onboard entertainment system lose to Emirates and Qatar, and now their cabin crew.....

Qanghoo      ( Date: 11-Sep-2016 10:07) Posted:

I think it' s not only AA, but the phenomenal emergence of the budget carriers that have eroded their mkt share.  Moreover, other full-service airlines have not only copied but bettered SIA' s service offerings over time.

They may not speak fluent English or may not be city-savvy. But give them a couple of years. They may even speak with American accent and write good engish. I've seen all these.

No need to look down on these gals from Malaysia. These girls will blossom with time. They may be even more loyal and service-oriented than many of the local breed. Sia's training is rigorous. They even have a training institute.
