Apparently as reported by the Cambodia post and supposedly expressed in their annual report, farming out a stake of the Block A Oi Field will be good.
sheerluck ( Date: 27-Feb-2017 13:11) Posted:
They guided that their CAPEX for 2017 is US$120mil.   This is way above their ops cashflow.   Most will be funded by RCF, Perf offering proceeds and debts.   Will they have enough cash beyond 2017 for their operations if they continue to spend at this level?

Analysts will take some time to review the annual report before adjusting their recommendation. According to the report, it seems KrisEnergy has been selling oil at ave of about US$30+ for FY16. In last quarter, they managed to increase to US$39+ per barrel. With current oil price of US$54, they should be seeing significant improvement ? Hope they didn't lock in too much in advance at lower prices. Minimally above US$40 ?

Anyone can advise which NTA should we be looking at - company or group ? What's the difference ?
Lucky03 ( Date: 25-Feb-2017 18:16) Posted:
| One thing that I'm not sure is how to derive the NTA of a company share ? Based on the company column or group column. For KrisEnergy, its NTA is US$0.017 at Group level and US$0.46 at Company level. |

Keppel has been announcing daily shares buy back recently from 20-24 Feb and its share price has risen from $6.20 to $6.95 this month.
If KrisEnergy is indeed very strategic to Keppel and they can identify the distinct synergy, will they be offering Keppel shares to take KrisEnergy private ?

Below extracted from Nov 3 2016 Credit Assessment by OCBC
Keppel Corp Ltd. (?Keppel?), KrisEnergy Ltd, 40% owned by Keppel: Keppel has announced a non-renounceable and non-underwritten preferential offering of up to SGD140mn senior unsecured zero coupon bonds due 2024 that come with free detachable warrants. Through wholly owned indirect subsidiaries, Keppel will subscribe for its full entitlement of the notes and warrants as well as those not subscribed for which could potentially raise Keppel?s stake in KrisEnergy to as much as 67% according to The Business Times. We previously flagged in our Asian Credit Daily on 30 September 2016 of Keppel?s intention to explore opportunities to link its diverse units up including Keppel O&M providing solutions for KrisEnergy Ltd?s offshore gas fields. We think this co-operation amongst subsidiaries and Keppel?s support for the preferential offering could indicate that Keppel?s investment in KrisEnergy is now viewed internally as more strategic. The preferential offering is subject to waivers, consents and approvals being obtained from the Securities Industry Council of Singapore, SGX and shareholders of KrisEnergy as well as KrisEnergy?s noteholders approving the restructure of its SGD330mn in bonds due over 2017 and 2018 into new notes that mature in 2022 and 2023 respectively (earlier than the proposed senior unsecured zero coupon bonds) with lower coupons (some cash and some deferred) and incurrence covenants in place of financial covenants. We do not currently cover KrisEnergy Ltd.. (Business Times, Straits Times, OCBC) |

Depends on the valuation of the stake. If they sell significantly higher than the valuation, then not only it relieves debt burden and improve cash flow, it can also help to book in profit. On the other hand, if he sell lower, it can be seen as fire sales and while it still serves to lower debt heating and improved cash flow, it may further aggravate impairment charges. Hope that KrisEnergy has taken care of the potential impairment charges with the significant writeoff as reported in the year's financial result.
Crude price holding US52-$54 will be helpful.

Still don't know if they have received approval from the Cambodian Government to commence extraction. Guess that will definitely make the stake much more valuable. So far, yet to see any analyst issuing report after the update post result announcement.

Further, the inpairment charge will lower the NTA. If Keppel decide to take it private, it will also be 'cheaper' ...

| Crude may hit US$55 these 2 days. KrisEnergy is operationally profitable but they decided to take a significant non-cash impairment charge. Well, that's prudent as the loss will allow them to offset against future years of taxable income. Besides, if for any reasons that some of the asset find useful purpose or can be salvage with any resales or goodwill, they can actually 'recover' .... |

FA mostly.    Result shows the history.  I invest in this Company for its future(potential), I dun buy its history, that is already ...well.... History.    That say, DYODD, dun just take my words for it, read the reports, see the change in the " Driver" and his credentials and connections.  Look at the production vol, cost of production and selling price, look at the geography of the oil wells...etcs.  Cheers and Huat Ah!

When I missed picking up more as KS hit 0.199 in last run and seeing it continuing to 0.225, I was lamenting. I finally given another chance and grabbed without hesitation.
