haha..even CEO has run road? down like mad..

Interesting to see that UOB and OCBC are still holding well, while DBS soften up a bit.
Maybe it is good time to buy more DBS.. Unless the market crashes, else the current price is probably good entry.

Can anyone share the short selling status of DBS now?

Low can be lower.
Never say never.
When it happens, got $ buy lor.
I always remember a couple of years before 2015, less than $15.
At that time, who think it will get to $30?
I believe in a few years' time, it will be about $40.
$50 is within reach beyond 2030.
Success is for the patient ones.

Just scroll back the chart further back for HK land and see how the price performed when they initiate the stock buyback.
I am not talking about fundamental here  :)

SBB is general. This AGM approval to buy up to 10 mil shares is more specific. Remember HK Land?

Good that they do SBB.
Bad as it means price is hard to go up. Need SBB to help stabilise. At times, selling is agressive and so intense SBB also doesn t help

subjective lah...

GoldenPig      ( Date: 01-Dec-2023 10:12) Posted:

I believe it is not beneficial to shareholders if a company uses its precious cash to do SBB at market prices above its NAV/share. It causes NAV/share and EPS to decrease.   It only props up share price temporarily and is a waste of cash resources IMO.
SBB adds value to shareholders if executed at market prices way below the NAV/share. It will increase NAV/share and EPS.

DBS provides Malaysia' s largest public sector pension fund, KWAP, its first green loan to expand sustainability footprint

The green loan refinances a Grade A green office tower with the highest rating for building energy efficiency in Australia

Singapore, Regional, 28 Nov 2023 - DBS has provided an AUD207 million (SGD180 million) green loan to Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP) to refinance a Grade A green office tower in Australia. This is the first green loan that KWAP &ndash the largest public sector pension fund in Malaysia &ndash has secured.

Wholly owned by KWAP, the 17-level office building located in Collins Street, Melbourne, holds a 6 Star NABERS energy rating (without Green Power) &ndash the highest rating for building energy efficiency in Australia. This is in recognition of its many sustainability attributes, including rooftop solar panels and a trigeneration system that recycles waste heat from onsite power generation for heating and cooling purposes.

DBS provided the green loan for the building in accordance with its Sustainable and Transition Finance Framework and Taxonomy, which was  launched in 2020  to help clients transition towards more sustainable business models. The loan provisions are aligned with internationally-recognised  Green Loan Principles.

Niraj Mittal, Country Head of DBS Australia, said: &ldquo The built environment sector is ripe for decarbonisation as it accounts for a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. The industry recognises this as we have observed growing demand for green finance products from a wide spectrum of organisations and not just real estate companies. We have been financing green infrastructure and properties across Asia Pacific to support the region&rsquo s transition towards a low carbon future. In Australia, we are very active in green and sustainability-linked financing to support our strategic clients&rsquo sustainability goals. DBS is proud to be partnering with KWAP as a pioneer in sustainability."

Hazman Hilmi Sallahuddin, Chief Investment Officer of KWAP, said: &ldquo Building a portfolio that generates long-term returns for our stakeholders has always been KWAP&rsquo s top priority as part of our value creation journey. It is an even greater achievement if it can be accomplished in a way that supports our effort to continue spearheading the ESG agenda. We are thrilled to work with DBS as we progress on this path towards making environmentally and sustainably conscious decisions for our portfolio.&rdquo

TrustCapital Advisors Investment Management is KWAP' s investment manager for this green loan.

Yes, unfortunately listed at dying exchange, otherwise faster reach.
However, it' s time will come. Just need to be patient.
Don' t forget not long before 2015, price was still around $11 - $15.
Now is double. So who dare say in ten years time, price cannot hit $50!

U would be a very rich man...if the TP is met...

DBS Group Holdings (DBSDF  &ndash   Research Report), the Financial sector company, was revisited by a Wall Street analyst yesterday. Analyst  Glenn Thum  from Phillip Securities remains neutral on the stock and has a S$41.60 price target.

Glenn Thum has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that show promising growth for DBS Group Holdings. These factors include 3Q23 adjusted PATMI being above their estimates due to higher NII, fee income, and other non-interest income, albeit offset by higher allowances. The company also saw an increase in NII by 16% YoY on NIM expansion of 29bps, despite a slight dip in loan growth. Furthermore, DBS has maintained its FY23e guidance and provided FY24e guidance of double-digit fee income growth from wealth management and credit card fees.

Thum&rsquo s recommendation is also based on DBS&rsquo s stable NII, as higher NIMs from higher-for-longer rates will be offset by lower loan growth, and its total allowances are expected to normalize to 17-20bps of loans. FY24e PATMI is expected to be maintained at around the current level. Glenn Thum also predicts continued NIM growth from higher-for-longer interest rates and a recovery in fee income, both of which will sustain earnings momentum for DBS Group Holdings.

Whether price will go further down or go up from now on, is anybody guess.
My view is that if you are going for dividend income and the eventual capital gain,
current price is already considered attractive.

Say you buy now at 32.10.
Assuming final dividend is 48c + special dividend 32c (worst case scenario).
Add subsequent 3 qtrs dividend of $1.44c = $2.24.
Your yield would be almost 7%!
This does not factor in the likelihood of higher special divdend & qtrly dividend.
Where to find such stable stock with such yield?
Have lah but only a handful lor.
I' m in the q to buy more if it does drop more.
My intermediate target is 20 lots.....hehe.....provided got $$.

New report by Maybank today

Brighter FY24E

Management revealed recently production of some NPIs (new product introductions) is likely to start in 4Q23E and more in FY24E. Customer&rsquo s inventory has also depleted and more orders are likely in 2024. Through our channel checks, we are also more bullish FY24E will be stronger for Venture due to higher operating leverage. We raise our FY24/25 PATMI forecasts by 7.1% and 9.8%, and increase our PE target from 14.5 to 15.0x due to a brighter outlook. This raises our TP by 10% to SGD15.40.
