Temask wanted to take SMM private but shareholders did' t give the thumbs up and the takeover didn' t go thru... old timers will know about it. This was just before the oil boom...SMM shares over time went over $3 and shareholders benefitted... now again they want to be a bigger shareholder. Why Temask would want to park so much money here even though it is from one pocket to another if it is not going to make them money.. yield is important for your money... one should think about it.

I wonder why people still buy SMM after its dismay performance over the years instead of buying SCI.
The market has been talking about ways which Temasek / SCI will cut of SMM for quite some time. It is already brewing for months.
All old time SMM holders are all wiped out while holders of SCI cheer. SMM is a drag to SCI. That' w why SCI must cut off SMM evetually in order to boost up its shareholder value |

looks like recovery from low of 0.45 to 0.575.
But it has a long way to go(3 to 4 months), today is just the first day, and nothing is firm up yet until the shareholders approval.
