Buffett Gets it Right Again&hellip About Airlines
Warren Buffett said that he would never put money into airline stocks again
Airlines in Asia have not been able to capitalize on the huge surge in passenger numbers
&ldquo There&rsquo s too much competition in the airline industry,
Airlines are not good investments,&rdquo said Shukor Yusof, founder of Endau Analytics, an industry consultant. &ldquo It never was even at the best of times. That&rsquo s why Warren Buffett has stayed away from it. It&rsquo s a very cyclical industry.&rdquo

In March of 2001, the billionaire chair of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett, said that he&rsquo s never investing in airline stocks again after the &ldquo mistake&rdquo of purchasing US Airways.
&ldquo Now if I get the urge to invest in airlines, I call an 800 number, and I say: &lsquo Hello, my name is Warren, and I&rsquo m not an air-o-holic,&rsquo &rdquo said Buffett. &ldquo Sometimes, it takes them 10 minutes to talk me out of it, sometimes more.&rdquo

Aud$2500 loss per ticket. 400 equal to only Aus$100000 loss. Not 1 million. Is a only a drop in the bucket.

Yesterday, Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that they will be honouring the mispriced business class tickets at its economy class prices. The mispricing, caused by a computer glitch, affected 400 Autralia-based passengers, who had bought the tickets through travel agents.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the business class tickets were sold for roughly AU$3,500 (US$2,899), while the original price was AU$6,000 (US$4,970) a piece. That&rsquo s AU$2,500 lost per ticket.
