Market disappointed... yield so low.....

The CEO september bought 400,000 shares at $15++. already make many many. so dividends not important liao. LOL

 

Hahaha, can be stingy, or can be prudent bro..matter of perspective. Also, stingy or nott is relative la. Give u example, i also have property giant CDL in my portfolio. It only announced 18c divd yes (of which 4c is SPECIAL divd..haha). at current px, that translate to an even more miserable divd yield % of 1.41%. STI component stk..property giant..so even more stingy then?? 

If so between these 2, which will u invest in? prob none i guess..haha.

at 60c div at my cost, my divd yield is ard 7.5%! I sell liao deploy my funds where? hahaha..I personally do not see alot of better stocks out there (my opinion). 

Okay u can say Telcos now have better % yield. But who is to say at    current px, the px wldnt drop further. I get better % yield but kena capital depreciation. And whos to say Telcos can maintain current divd payout amt to maintain the % yield? 

Give u an example ar..2-3yrs back, i advocated buying Venture at 7bucks plus to my fren. He declined and bot in Singtel @ 4bucks. Look at my capital gain now compared to his capital loss. In short, i luv this stock lah..no right or wrong..not an inducement to buy or sell.

U no like..jus sell..or short! u like..just buy...all within yr comfort level. :)

They were thinking total divd for this year to be ard 65-70c.  So at the current declared divd of 60c, its not too far off mkt estimates. I was nvr really convinced they will give $1 la..lolx.  I think it might be a prudent move to conserve cashflows. Plus i tink revenue n profit did meet mkt estimates. But thats just my opinion la. Maybe tomorrow might sell dwn, or even go up on record revenue performance. We shall see.  For me i will definately hold on la..lol

TBH, im holding onto Venture not merely for its divd, but more for its future performance and share price appreciation. Of course this is just my view la. Not an inducement to buy.

Holding on to Dbs for its dividends would be a better option imo.. Personally I think 60cts is disappointing for such a giant stock in Sg.

fiat500 - yah thats  what i think also. but also, it could go the opposite direction- in that people might feel this is a stable stock to buy into and drive up the share price  while the current holders sell off  what they hold? 
what do you think?

Likely wil drop when mkt opens tomorrow morning. 60cts dividends not attractive enough to hold it long term. Quite stingy imo to give such miserable dividends. Price might stabilize late afternoon or on Fri..

To me this are excellent numbers la, being a long time investor. TBH, i have nvr seen such good results! lolx.

To me 60c divd is very good, cos my cost is $8 plus on average.. so % yield is very good! lolx

 

dividend declared is only 0.6cents?
