If I am AK71, I would finally believe there is such thing as God. And I' d be living a high life in Europe with the few hundred thousand dollars of dividends AK receives every year.  I' m a dividend investor and I read and agree with what AK posts. But my holdings are peanuts compared with his multi-million dollars holdings. Those who wants toverify for themselves whether AK is fake or real or a bullshit just neeh to read through his posts over the last decade and it' ll be clear as day.

Gar Cars will not lose money forever. It is in fact Uber's modus operandi to burn money to gain market shares and there after get listed. The stock market will compensate $1000 for every dollar burnt.
With the 30 cents platform fee, I expect Grab Cars to break even. I dont think its base fares will increase but its platform fee will. That will be less painful to the riders and need not be shared with the drivers. A $1.00 platform fee will be big huat to Grab. Riders and drivers will suck thumb. Whether Grab is facing other PHV companies' competition is not important to us or CDG. What is important is : PHV's business model (of using private cars not owned by themselves to earn money from the riders) is a big threat to CDG's taxi renting model of business (earning from the drivers). PHV companies will benefit from Phase 3 opening and opening of borders because they earn from the riders. CDG dont earn anything unless more Merdeka or Pioneer Generation uncles rent taxis from them.

Yes, CDG taxi business was significantly cannibalised by ride hail platform operators the past 5 years - no one denies that. Is CDG wising up to the competition and fighting back? Yes, it is. Is it a confirmed losing game for CDG? I think not. There are many ways to change the business model and leverage on CDG assets / marketing to bring the battle to platform operators. Dangerous to extrapolate past Grab ride hail success to future performance - this is not how business works. Dynamics change when management seizes technological or social or regulatory opportunities.
All being said, do not presume that CDG is a single trick pony whose development is dictated by taxi sector alone. That is a very narrow view. CDG is a global public transport company, not a Singapore taxi company. Bottomline is look at its revenue growth over the years - collapsing because of taxi? Far from it. No need to predict doomsday for CDG. |

Hi Guys, I am still here. Now with a few friends drinking in the cold wheather. So shiok! One of them is a newly joined guy spoted by my friend eating alone and dragged to join us. He was a Comfort taxi driver until 3 years ago when he resigned and became a cleaning supervisor working a in a condo under employment of a contractor. He said CDG had been calling gim to ask him to rejoin.
So you see, CDG will not give up its taxi business. Pandemic so no choice? Running down fleet? Only 13% of total revenue? These are all excuses for potential, possible, and probable failure. Good tries, but not acceptable. Taxi was CDG' pride. It was the World's biggest Taxi Company. Compared to bus and train, which are the so-called CORE BUSINESS surviving on government's relief all the time, taxi is the only one business growable. Drinking continues!

Or is it you conman? Hard to tell who is who on SJ. One thing is for sure, he is not a taxi driver. Maybe he is a ceo of sbs transit or one of the better performing cdg subsidiaries

Exactly. Read my previous post below regarding AK71 added even more holdings. In his post, he stated clearly that he invested at current prices based on it' s taxi business at Zero!!!! AK71 is the most shrewd investor --- he only Grossly Underpays and never Overpays!! Read his post in this link: http://singaporeanstocksinvestor.blogspot.com/

It has bus and mrt which are staple business for cdg. One day we may even have helitaxis or remote piloted vehicles at our disposal. Mini golf buggies and other remote vehicles we see on the pcns. The transport industry looks exciting and CDG must be a large part of it.

Comfort will need more investing capital to compete with the likes of GRAB and others on the taxi market. More investors retail and institutional will expand its investor base and keep comfort afloat. If ever it needs money for expansion, there will be more people willing to put money into it. Comfort is here to stay and provide competition to GRAB and whoever wants to enter the transport market. It has to get used to the new normal of being second best or even third best. Maybe this would spur them to become better and more efficient. Gone are the days when we think of taxi and immediately think of comfort. It will have the reshape it' s business model and compete more intelligently. They will need a global minded ceo and a new team of forward thinking executives with an eye towards new technologies in the transport industry.  | ||||
