MAS takes Civil Penalty Action against Wong Teck Kui for Insider Trading Singapore, 25 January 2016&hellip The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has taken civil penalty action under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) against Mr Wong Teck Kui for insider trading in the shares of Time Watch Investments Limited (TWI). Mr Wong has admitted to contravening section 219(2)(a) of the SFA and has paid MAS a civil penalty of $110,000 without court action. 2 On 17 and 18 January 2011, Mr Wong, an appointed representative with UOB Kay Hian Private Limited (UOBKH), purchased a total of 1.3 million TWI shares through trading accounts held by his wife, sister and mother with UOBKH while he was in possession of non-public information concerning a proposed voluntary delisting and concurrent exit offer for TWI shares. 3 On 19 January 2011, Red Rewarding Limited and TWI announced a proposed delisting and exit cash offer for TWI shares and Mr Wong made a profit of $43,636 from his insider trades. 4 MAS has also issued a prohibition order to Mr Wong pursuant to section 101A of the SFA, prohibiting him from (i) conducting business in any regulated activity under the SFA or acting as a representative in respect of any regulated activity under the SFA and (ii) taking part in the management of any holder of a capital market services licence or any person exempt from holding a capital market services licence under section 99(1) of the SFA in Singapore, for a period of two (2) years with effect from 29 January 2016. 5 This matter was referred to MAS by Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. |

But one thing for sure is that financial analysts are not the ones running the business. When u are an outsider how much do u see n how much do u know? How much actual experience do u have to seize on an opportunity, avoid a pitfall or turn a weakness into strength? If the analysts are that good, n how many, over time, have proved that they are able to come up with viable plans to do things differently n succeed (n it may not necessarily be Ezra alone). If history has a convincing enough list of such people that consistently surface over the years, then I' m sure a lot more coys facing difficulties (which wld be inevitable through its own, industry n general economic up-down cycles) some of these so-called analysts wld have been in much much greater demand already. On the other hand, u look at the Kwek Hong Pngs of this world n how they start out penniless n build up vast empires by tapping on the universities at the back of their minds, then u may want to perhaps spare more than a cursory thought on our brother YY' s quote below (thx for sharing). Don' t mean to be offensive, just hoping to train our mind' s eye to an alternative angle. Have meant to put my thought (which actually struck me reading so many incredible comments of so many super " managers" on football websites but applicable in other areas nontheless) up for sometime already. Surely Ezra business is related to the price of crude oil ? A month ago, the market talk is that winter is warmer this year and hence the lower demand forecast for the season that prompted trader to push the price down further. The last few days is a turnaround. Even HK is experiencing the coldest period in decades !
As said, I can't check out Ezra Mgmt of how they run the business although I agree that they should consider more asset sales or JV like that they have done with Chiyoda rather than relying on consolidation of shares. Just hope that if the oil makes a turnaround, the whole landscape for O&G will be less gloomy and hence some chance for Ezra to secure some deals to improve its vessel utilization. Bro, you got mixed up again. ERZA is not in a difficult situation. It those who vested high who are in difficult situation. They are not going backrupt. They got asset which THEY VALUED well above liabilities (highlighted for those who keep missing this point). They can use their asset as collateral for loan, right? Unless you tell me their asset are worth less. Why worry so much for them?

I know the anguish of those vested at high px, but i think time to stay safe, we shd think about return of capital if any, and not return on capital( like cnbc one fund manager said, But anyway return on capital is a joke, save for those who dare to buy now, ppl like me, to take a small bet.
