This virus outbreak marks the end of SMM. Oil price will only stabilise in mid April. The oil rout is created by man-made, crash of the titans. No oil producing country will emerge as ultimate winner. All parties will lose, some lose more than the others, that' s all. Oil producers are profit maximisers. Prolong ultra low oil price will cause fiscal problems in the country. The last oil war from 2014-2016, lasted 2 years. If this oil war is going to repeat for 2 years, many of the downstream/upstream oil related companies will go burst. SMM won' t be spared either. Many banks across the globe will be affected because of the loans lent out to O& G sector. There will be a chain of reaction. Therefore, US, Saudi and Russia have to end the price war sooner than expected. Stay tune till mid April to see whether the titans have finally shaked hands with one another. |

Warren Buffett says before, when u buy a stock, u are actually buying a business because the business itself will make money for u in the future. D not buy a stock, hoping that someone will come in and pay u a higher price. That is speculation, not investment. In 2018, SM is already losing money and the management themselves admit that they are facing a very competitive industry. Last year, when oil is about 50+, they cannot make profits. Now oil is 20+, I see how much they are going to lose!! Those people who buy SM when the price drop to 1.00, drop to 0.90, drop to 0.80, they really dare to disobey Warren Buffett. SGX is full of examples of unprofitable companies dropping to 1 cent, 2 cents (Ouhua, Ziwo, Sino Grandness, Yongnam, Yamada). Y still got people not scare? |
