Why This Matters

Fire sale to family: GHK sold Zouk for S$14 million&mdash 65% below the S$40 million valuation from just 7 years earlier. The buyer was the Lim family scion, purchasing at distressed prices while GHK minority shareholders absorbed the losses.

Conflict of interest: Lim Keong Hui was GHK' s Deputy CEO until August 28, 2020, then bought Zouk on September 1, 2020. He had insider knowledge of GHK' s financial desperation.

Asset stripping: This was one of several " fire sales" to related parties before GHK' s collapse&mdash along with Genting Macau (sold at US$159 million loss to another related party).

The result: Minority shareholders got nothing from these asset sales value was transferred to the Lim family before GHK was liquidated and delisted in 2023.

Today 12/2 is the due date for contra shares bought on 6/2. With a volume spike on 11/2, otherwise progression is cautious. The last announcement of results in November 25 saw the share price elevated to 0.80 only to fell back to low 70s' in a jiffy. With CNY approaching and impending announcement of 1st quarter results, shall see what happens this time.
