Wait for this qtr results. Best if trigger MCBs. Another round of squeezing money from shareholders |

You have better close or at least hedge your short before you are blown away by the aircraft engines when SIA takes off! | ||||

Saints have, throughout history, been mainly single and when they travelled, they did so, in ships. Saint Maximus.

Keeping the strong afloat till the storm has passed  https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/opinion/keeping-the-strong-afloat-till-the-storm-has-passedTHE news that Singapore' s government could act to prevent strategically important firms from going under amid the Covid-19 pandemic must have given some reassurance both to some companies - though none were named - and to citizens worried about the fate of icons such as national carrier Singapore Airlines. The careful phrasing with which Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat delivered the news last Thursday, however, should serve as a sufficient signal that this is being done with great prudence, and that support should not be taken for granted. Mr Heng made his remarks in the context of government aid for a certain category of firms: those in sectors that are facing a temporary drop in demand but will eventually recover, such as tourism and aviation. Existing efforts include upcoming SingapoRediscovers vouchers, the Enhanced Aviation Support Package, and resilience packages for arts and culture, as well as sports. |

SIA has always been a ' branded' name. It is no budget airline. So its target audience is the more wealthy who are willing to spend. So it is now doing what it used to do. Make money from the more wealthy and also the not so wealthy (through their budget names like Scoot/Tigerair). As for me, I have an even more precious commodity, time. If ever I need to travel these days, I might hop onto a container ship to the destination willing to accept me and be a frequent sailor.

Thought you said many Singaporeans willing to pay but now SIA only need rich kids who are willing to pay. What about those rich kids who are not willing to play? Stingy?
At this point of time, SIA needs everyone whether rich or poor. Are you paying the premiums to fly out of Singapore in support of SIA? You want to fly than you fly and not b'cos you're poor or rich. But if you're stuck with SIA shares then you need to make sure SIA make as much money as possible in the shortest time. Shareholders show your support. Be a frequent flyer. I'm not flying until there's no more COVID-19. Trade with shareholders and DYODD

so next month 2nd round of MCB? or wait until 2021 then do? Anyway I think its a good move to refund the existing tickets because when the traveling restart, prices will never be the same again.

Don' t worry, SIA does not need you. They need rich kids who are willing to pay high premiums to travel out of Singapore.

Paying $6xx for a meal in a stationary plane doesn?t make sense to me.
To have in flight meal delivery is another one that blow my mind. Is that that it is cheap, it is premium. Come on Michelin star food delivery also taste inferior compare to dinning in. Why? Miss the taste of in flight dining?? Wow 😳

Shhh! We have affluent people around us. It shows Singapore has a growing middle-class who can sustain the economy a little. We need their support, even if it is to show off a little. Haven' t we done so as a country too, our Jewels, our ports, airports, our airline (inflight service that even other airlines talk about), etc.
