Philippines has started to open up to foreign nationals. I believe they will slowly try to implement having an Art self test (rather than RT-PCR test). If this happens, it will benefit clearbridge!

I' m new here but have been collecting and holding clearbridge shares. Many long term holders, I believe know about the issue with Biolidics and it' s not a surprise if a net loss is reported. But I' m here looking at the the next possible report that may show high profits because of the demand and sales clearbridge is having now at current time. I' m going to add some while the price is low and hovering at these range for sometime now. It' s just matter of time when it' s true potential will be seen and the share price takes off again. Art test is useless. Heard of many sick people tested false negatives for many days before suddenly becoming positive when they became well, by then already too late as they had been walking around the streets infecting others as they thought they were negatives. Govt noted this is is currently thinking about phasing out use of ART.

" With the surge in demand for kits globally as well as in Singapore, the retailers work closely with the Government to plan ahead to secure a healthy supply of kits," said MOH in response to CNA' s queries. " The Government has built up a stockpile of ART test kits to prevent and mitigate any sudden disruption in supplies globally or sudden surge in demand in Singapore. When there is shortage, the Government has released supplies from its stockpile to retailers." ART kits were out of stock at several stores last week, as Singapore experienced a surge in cases amid the Omicron wave. The Health Ministry said the demand for ART kits is " reflective of the testing needs among the population as the COVID-19 situation evolves" . " In Singapore, recent demand for test kits has risen as the population takes on greater social responsibility to perform more regular self-testing," it added. |

Self-testing kits are important...i would know it becos i tested positive for COVID earlier this week. Not only do i have to do self testing, my family members also have to do self testing on a daily basis. And we need to BUY MORE and keep as back up just in case. Just imagine Philippines with 100m population, how much ART kits they need? And with only 2 approved brands right now (one being imported and distributed by Clearbridge), there are mind boggling opportunities. pls do your own DD.. |

DTI pushes for self-test kits amid spike in Covid-19 cases MANILA &ndash To have another layer of protection amid the spike in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is pushing for making Covid-19 self-test kits available in drugstores. In a text message to reporters Tuesday, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez it is time to adjust the protocol by encouraging the use of Covid-19 self-test kits to prevent transmission. &ldquo Because if one is not feeling anything, or asymptomatic, one would not have done anyway an RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) for that day. But an antigen test can detect if one is infectious or not for that day, and (that) can be preventive. This should be part of a new normal protocol,&rdquo he said. He added that this recommendation has been submitted to the Technical Working Group of Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases last December 31. DTI has been pushing for this recommendation since October last year. &ldquo This is better than no test at all for asymptomatic. (It is) another layer of protection,&rdquo Lopez said. The trade chief said that Food and Drug Administration-approved antigen self-test kits should be made available in drugstores so that people can voluntarily screen themselves for Covid-19 at the comfort of their homes. Lopez added that the RT-PCR test should still be done for symptomatic individuals. &ldquo In these increasing cases, presumably of Omicron, it is important to have another layer of protection,&rdquo Lopez said. &ldquo Again, this is on top of the required vaccination, and RT-PCR (is) still needed for asymptomatic.&rdquo The city government of Baguio earlier said it will pilot the at-home Covid-19 test kits in the country to speed up the detection and management of Covid-19 cases in the city. At-home rapid test kits for Covid-19 screening are widely used in the United States, Canada, Europe, Singapore, and Hong Kong to manage the transmission of Covid-19. Following the gatherings during Christmas and New Year holidays, a number of Covid-19 cases in the country significantly jumped, making the Philippines again as a &ldquo high risk&rdquo country for Covid-19. Aside from the holidays, the more transmissible Omicron variant was detected last December 15. On Tuesday, the Department of Health reported 5,434 new Covid-19 cases. |

Hong Kong leader says city ' overwhelmed' by Omicron wave MON, FEB 14, 2022 - 6:45 PM [HONG KONG] Hong Kong' s health facilities have been overloaded by an " onslaught" of Covid-19 infections, its leader said, even as its authorities cling to a " zero-Covid" policy despite an unprecedented rise in cases fuelled by the Omicron variant. The authorities have adhered to mainland China' s policy of stamping out the smallest outbreak with mass quarantine, widespread tracking and prolonged social-distancing measures since the start of the pandemic. But the extremely contagious Omicron variant breached the Chinese territory' s defences in late December, piling up more than 8,000 infections in a few weeks. Researchers warned that daily cases could exceed 25,000 by next month. While the infection rate remains low compared to major cities around the world, Hong Kong' s policy of sending even asymptomatic cases to hospitals and quarantine facilities has filled up beds and amplified wait times. " The onslaught of the 5th wave of the epidemic has dealt a heavy blow to Hong Kong and overwhelmed the city' s capacity of handling," leader Carrie Lam said in a statement issued Sunday night. The surge in cases has increased wait times " for admitting people who test positive to isolation facilities," she added. Surrounded by patients queuing for tests all of last week, the city' s hospitals on Sunday told people who have " stable or have mild symptoms" to stay at home. But Lam said the government " will spare no effort to implement" the " zero Covid" strategy and that China will help the city to bolster testing and quarantine resources. Hong Kong has struggled to persuade its elderly population to get vaccinated with only around half of people over the age of 70 receiving a jab. The government has repeatedly said its " zero Covid" policy is meant to buy more time for them to get inoculated. Researchers warned Friday that by the end of March, the city could be racking up 28,000 daily infections. Hong Kong had only recorded a touch over 12,000 cases by the end of 2021. Last week marked the city' s first Covid-19 deaths in five months, with seven patients over 70 and one four-year-old boy falling to the virus. On Monday, the authorities said two more elderly patients had died, and the hospital occupation rate now at 90 per cent - which is its limit. In-person teaching in kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools - closed since January - will remain suspended until early March, the city' s Education Bureau said. |
