March 8 (Reuters) - Southeast Asian indexes retreated on Tuesday tracking weakness in Asia, as investors in the region's emerging markets cashed in on recent gains.
Dut to news China's Feb exports came in 25.4% lower than in the same month last year. The figure were far worse than analysts had forecast Chinese equities lower than 1.5% on the day, but a late afternoon rally saw indices finish stronger with Shanghai up 0.1% and Shenzhen up 0.5%. It was the sixth consecutive day of gains for Shanghai. The Hang Seng Index ended the day down 0.4% and the Nikkei down 0.8%. After a strong rally on Monday, Brent crude was quoted 1.25% lower, but still solidly above US$40 per barrel. |

U.S. oil prices rallied again last Friday after a one-day pause, helped by strong U.S. jobs data and technical buying after crude prices breached resistance levels on charts.
Also on last Friday, U.S. oil rig count fell by 8 to a total of 392, oilfield services firm Baker Hughes reported. At this time last year, drillers were operating 922 rigs in U.S. oil fields. O&G play counters tua tua huat chai...argh. Watch Ezra n Ezion n many others open green green. |

Not really true. If US economy results justifies, I think it's actually a good sign. Being prudent now is better than being caught off handed when inflation hits. Must always factor in the fact that America is consumer driven, so you really cannot afford to let them have too much easy money, risk of bubble. as long as India continues to deliver, BRIC stabilizes, other smaller states like Vietnam and Myanmar stays fine, global economy should be ok.

Im still holding my shorts on usd with stop loss and still will long gold for the year. US is just creating more part time jobs = less unemployment = actually very cham cos wages not growing

Cfm wun hike in march as wages data cant meet what Fed looking for. As to june, dunno yet...nd to see nearer to date how oil sector in US impact its economy and unemployment then oso...but i think more shale coys gg bankrupt
