Need expert checks on my estimates:
Airtel AGR liabilities are INR 44,000 crores or SGD 8B. Singtel share of AGR is 32% x SGD 8B = SGD2.5B. If AGR is halved, Singtel NPAT goes up by SGD1.25B, or SGD 7.5c per share. If AGR is waived, Singtel NPAT goes up by SGD2.5B, or SGD 15c per share. How does an extra 7.5c / 15c dividend sound?

NEW DELHI: The telecom sector's growth is picking up from the second quarter led by recent tariff hikes by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea and even though JioPhone Next may delay further hikes, Jefferies said in a note.
Bharti Airtel chief executive Gopal Vittal recently said that the recent tariff tweak for prepaid and postpaid services is a "small step" in the direction to increase ARPUs to Rs 200 and eventually to Rs 300. He said that ARPUs in India are extremely low and at the current level the company's return on capital is in the low single digit. BoFA Securities separately said that it expects VIL?s weak business momentum will continue given risks from Jio?s new smartphone launch, likely churn on back of featurephone tariff hikes and limited capex investments. Vodafone Idea has already raised 2G rates in 13-14 circles and will go nationwide in coming months. "It expects some churn as customers are price sensitive and have multiple SIMs, but also sees revenue upside. The company will raise tariffs for other segments as opportunities arise," BoFA said. "We see two key themes playing out in Indian telcos over the next few months. First, sector revenue growth will pick up led by tariff hikes from Bharti/VIL. Second, while the upcoming launch of JioPhone Next may cause delays in further tariff hikes, VIL's stretched balance sheet will likely accelerate the pace of market share shifts towards Bharti/Jio and may lead to relief measures from the government," Jefferies said , adding Vodafone Idea's fragile state will likely ensure market share shifts towards Airtel and Jio. During the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal, aggregate revenue growth for the top-3 operators moderated to 1% sequentially. Reliance Jio reported the highest revenue growth at 4% QoQ as compared to Bharti's 2% sequentially and Vodafone Idea's 5% QoQ decline. Jefferies said that while sector revenues have grown 40% from trough levels in FY19 and have recovered to previous peak, growth has moderated. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio gained 120bps and 60bps market share vs FY21 respectively, while VIL lost 180bps to 19% during 1Q, it added. As per its analysis, Bharti Airtel continued to outperform on operating metrics with the highest average data and voice usage, implying higher adoption of unlimited plans. VIL's operating metrics were weak with fall in 4G subs, postpaid subs and voice subs. Its data traffic grew by 13% QoQ in 1Q, below Bharti's 17% QoQ and Jio's 22% QoQ. Both companies saw data throughput per BTS rise in1Q. Jefferies said that Bharti Airtel's rapid investment in broadband sites will likely drive further market share gains. In 1QFY22, aggregate EBITDA for the top-3 operators grew 2% QoQ, marginally above 1% QoQ revenue growth, resulting in 30bps margin expansion to 46%. Margin expansion was driven by Bharti Airtel, the brokerage said. Reliance Jio continues to see limited benefits of operating leverage resulting in flat margins despite healthy 4% QoQ revenue growth. VIL's 26% EBITDA decline in 1Q was due to a sharp revenue decline. |

India Today: Govt wants promoters to infuse capital before relief package
The government has asked promoters of Vodafone Idea Limited to stay committed to rescuing the stressed telecom firm as it plans to announce its relief package for the debt-laden telecom sector. Vodafone idea crisis update The government is expected to come out with a relief package as it plans to offer some breathing space to the ailing telecom sector, especially cash-strapped Vodafone Idea, which is on the brink of a financial collapse. While no specific date has been announced by the government for announcing the telecom relief package, several officials have confirmed that work is underway to provide relief to all stressed telecom companies, especially Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL). Even as the government readies the relief package for the telecom sector, it wants promoters of Vodafone Idea ? the Vodafone Group Plc and Aditya Birla Group (ABG) ? to show their commitment to telecom operations by infusing capital, reported The Economic Times. The report highlighted that Department of Telecommunication (DoT) officials are planning to reach out to the ailing telco?s promoters to understand the future court of action and whether the promoters are committed to saving the stressed telco. This is because the government wants to avoid a situation where VIL goes under despite a relief package. A senior government official quoted in the publication said all efforts are being made to retail a three-player telecom market. However, the official suggested that it is important for the two promoters to infuse capital into the company and chalk out a strategy for the next few years. VIL'S DETERIORATING SITUATION The current situation does not look good for Vodafone Idea, which saw its first-quarter loss jump to Rs 7,319 crore from Rs 6,985 crore in the previous quarter. On the contrary, Vodafone Idea?s total debt has increased to Rs 1.92 lakh crore. To make matters worse, the company has lost a significant chunk of its telecom business during the pandemic and needs fresh investments to recover from the current situation and repay dues. The company has even failed to raise Rs 25,000 crore almost a year after its board approved fundraising plans. Many experts tracking the company believe that Vodafone Idea will not be in a position to repay its next instalment of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues worth Rs 9,000 crore and additional debt payment to the tune of over Rs 16,300 crore. These instalments are due in the next 12 months. PROMOTERS NOT KEEN ON CAPITAL INFUSION Vodafone Group CEO Nick Read had earlier made it clear that the company will not infuse any additional capital into the loss-making Indian telecom joint venture with ABG. Meanwhile, ABG Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla recently stepped down as VIL?s non-executive chairman after writing a distress letter to the government. In his letter, Birla offered to hand over his stake (27.6 per cent) in Vodafone Idea to any government entity that can save the company. It seems both promoters have made their mind up and will not be infusion any additional capital into the joint venture telecom businesses. In such a scenario, the government feels that a relief package may not be enough to save Vodafone Idea. The official quoted in the ET report said calculations show that relief from the government will not be sufficient for the loss-making telco to survive. |

Next stimuli for Singtel coming within days, not weeks.
VIL fails - Airtel gains market share VIL survives with removal of AGR dues - Airtel also gets relief from AGR dues Either way, good news for Airtel and Singtel

Dow now down 299.66 points. Tomorrow above 2.40 is all guessing as always. You won' t hear barking again should Singtel be above 2.40 for tomorrow. Do your homework, my children! Don' t just bark back like street dogs whenever you hear barking sound. Better wear pampers and go back to start learning from kindergarten. Haha!

Better not put our hopes too high yet. Later you hear more dogs barking.....especially female dogs. That one is also a rare breed. So rare that she keeps barking non stop day and night. Just now just bark again......I think I will need to throw some doggy bone.  Up also they bark. Down they bark louder. No up no down also bark. Seems those losers think this is their territory and only they can bark. Hahahahaha........ No expectations is the best!  LONG TO ENJOY!

Some ' dogs' bark at any noise or object that catches their attention or startles them. This can happen anywhere, not just in their home territory. Their ears will be back and tail tucked when they are in a state of fear.  So all you who are grateful, wait the days to come for you to regret that you didn' t heed the warning!  ![]()   |

Were you inside my brain earlier on?  That was what I was thinking as well!!!  I believe  some of us are on the right track and some totally lost track and completely lost it. One particular special breed dog keeps on coming to bark for the sake of barking........that one, i really feel pity for that breed.  1. Miss the boat, can still enter lar at current price. It is not like they are going to buy 100-500 (1 lot equals to 1000 shares) lots at one go. 2. Bo lui means must have trade wrongly and treated stock market like casino. 3.  If they were shorting, means they have little experience on it which kena burn. You notice that they have no answers anymore as they ran out of ideas. Shortist usually is like that......usually come out " short" ! HAHAHAHAHAHA.....
