Osaka only one competitor, MGM.
Last year AGM, they talked very confidently about Osaka.
At the EGM, their mood were so subdued.
The confidence is no longer there.

 Alert Admin 		Yes they have a massive $3-$4billion cash pile which they can pay out to shareholders - 20 cents or more. And this would not affect their ongoing ability to generate even more dividends either. Maybe that is why the share price rose.

 Alert Admin 		Maybe it is better for genting Singapore to buy a portion of the genting hk cruise business at the prevailing low rate rather then tender for the Japanese casino ,as Genting hk was already in cooperation ,while Japan casino need atleast another 4 years to realised it's investment , hopefully the wuhan virus issue come to a close earlier by then.

Give special dividend of 20 cents per share or buy back shares if not going into Japan. Pay the shareholders for years of keeping the money then kena mega expansion for RWS 2.0. No room to negotiate to say no cash for expansion. Keep piling cash then will see RWS 3.0 instead of being able to choose what needs upgrading and having the freedom to decide on expansion plans

Coronavirus: Singapore hotel occupancy tumbles to under 50%


 
At Sentosa, rates have dipped below 30% situation expected to worsen across Republic
 


Singapore' s hotel occupancy rate is in free fall, plummeting from nearly 100 per cent just before Chinese New Year to below the 50 per cent mark in the week of Feb 9.

It is expected to drop even further, said analysts and hotel operators. The impact of the  coronavirus outbreak  was most felt by hotels in Sentosa, which have seen rates dip below 30 per cent.
