Q1 they mentioned china production wont affect them as factory is located majority in malaysia. So now makaysia lockdown i not how it will affect venture.......

One interesting fact about Venture. During the 2000 Dot.com bubble, it went up to $17++ before crashing. If you didn' t panic sell and hold on to the stock, you are still gaining over the 20 years as the share price did recover back to $17++ and above during the 20 years period. Not forgetting the fat dividend that you have collected over 20 years. Comparing to Creative of $60++ during the bubble, once went down, it will never go recover back to $60. This clearly distinguish good quality companies that will withstand against time, even this Covid-19. Will we see Venture at $10? It is very unlikely despite that the Covid-19 is very damaging to the real economy. |

Venture is like a FAANG stock of the US. Ignoring the dividend, the capital appreciation is super huge. For 29 years, it has given a super return to shareholders. During the GFC, the share price was in the range of $2.50++. Looked at how it powered up after 2009 till today. It is a true darling of STI, even the banking stocks couldn' t match.

The annual report of venture is certainly very interesting detailing that its future ready and is building new eco system. It grew its dividend from 1991 about 100 times till $0.70 today. It' s share price grew astronomically from $0.40 during ipo in 1991 till now $16. Not many Singapore stocks can match up to its phenomenal growth. In comparison, dbs is $4 then and grew to $19 now, which is very slow. i have always like to compare ComfortDelGro and sats to venture. Before the drop, I have always believed that ComfortDelGro and sats are very very overpriced. Both have lower earnings yet higher pb, which does not make sense. Well now, tables are turned. It is true stocks in the Long run are a weighing machine. Fundamentals matter, and now it seems the consolidation at the lower levels seems completed. As such, it can be seen venture corp is now one of the most bullish stocks in the sti component index. |
