Share price keep dropping becos of idiots like youself (plenty around in the forum) making unrealistic expectation on dividend without the consideration of market condition and weak demand for coal.

Q1 coal price 70+, only 0.5 cent dividend declared, with higher striping ratio and increasing cost & royalty tax cited. Cash cost per ton in Q1 had increased to USD52.6, meaning that there is no profit at current coal price. It is therefore more reasonable to expect no dividend for Q2. Stop shouting and crying out for 2 cents dividend! It will not happen until coal price increase substantially.

Of course, cutting loss is often recommended in trading, however it is very hard to execute because it takes much belief and discipline to do it. Those who have done it will probably taste profit if they bought back at a lower price and managed to sell off profitably when it climbed back up to cover the initial loss. Anyway, it is quite subjective to compare coal stocks with medical stocks, they have their similarities and differences. What are crypto stocks ? Do you mean investing in bitcoin, for example ?

In trading, u Mus learn to cut loss when it drops to an unsafe zone. Actually I have been calling for cut loss since 38 cents. If you guys had listened to me and then buy back now. It? wouldn?t be so bad. Anyway I have loaded at avg 26 cents which I deemed quite safe for the time being, I will continue to monitor coal price and demands as the coal fever wanes off. The current situation is exactly the same as med stocks. If anyone had bought those at a high and holding until now. Huge losses incurred. It?s never going to recover until the next pandemic.
So is there is a chance to get out of geo at with profits , I will get out and never get into coal counters again. There are lots of opportunities out there, don?t have to die die stay in one counter. Crypto stocks are my next bets for multi baggers. Hope to see you guys there. Cheers

So only those who are positive about the counter can comment on the forum? Then that' s just an echo chamber. Personally I prefer to hear a variety of views rather than only hear what I want to hear about the counter, unless the comment happens to be misleading. By the way, please stop posting that Charles Melati has purchased shares at 27c. It was just the insurance of share options, he has not exercised it. The only thing he has done is gift away his shares to his family which coincided with the sell off of Geo over the past months.

I do not understand why alot of people are having overly high expectation on dividend, Final dividend Y2022 expected 6cents Q1 2023 2cents, and despite the huge drop in coal price, can still expect 2cents dividend for Q2. Some even expect the company to pay dividend when company report a loss. How dumb can that be? Do you call that stupig, naive or plain dumb? | ||||

From the investment perspective, Geo current price of 22-22.5c has no risk! Geo is trading at Net Cash value of 21-22c, n this value would continues to increase every quarter becoz the company is still very profitable at current coal price. It also means that u own Geo Energy close to Zero cost after taking into consideration of its Net Cash n almost zero debt. How many company in SGX has such high Net Cash position, n declares quarterly dividend. Although its coal business is considered not ESG friendly, but current green Energy is not ready to replace fossil for many years to come n is costly. I believe if the company decided to take it private, like Golden Energy, the offer would be around 32-34c given its current NTA is abt 40c. |

It' s pointless to sell now at a huge loss. We are now holding on for hope. If it' s share price will go up with their so-called yet to announce accretive acquisition. In the event if they choose to delist, there will be an exit offer. At least, reduce some of the losses. If you sell now, you have confirmed the losses. So, just hold tight. If the price gets lower, can consider buy some for it to rise. | ||||
