Facts : So the  NC current CEO Leong screwing up his father-in-law? Looks like may have some  interesting  insider family issues.......

The action of the current CEO Leong is indeed puzzling many may have observed recently

Source : Nam Cheong leadership transition will be smooth: OCBC - Jun2013

Business directions will stay the course.


In its company update, OCBC Research said Nam Cheong' s re-designated CEO Mr Leong Seng Keat, who replaces Datuk Tiong Su Kouk, has 15 years of experience in the IT industry and has a solid track record in marketing the company' s vessels internationally, which should ease concerns of a rocky turnover.

Here' s more from OCBC:

New CEO but expect a smooth transition. Nam Cheong Limited recently announced that its Executive Director, Mr. Leong Seng Keat, has been re-designated as the CEO. Datuk Tiong Su Kouk, who is also a controlling shareholder with a 43% stake, will relinquish his CEO position but he remains as the Executive Chairman. We believe that this  leadership transition would be smooth and do not expect any significant changes to the group&rsquo s business directions. Mr. Leong, also the son-in-law of Datuk Tiong, joined Nam Cheong in 2005 after 15 years in the IT industry. With his sales and management experience, Mr. Leong successfully marketed the group&rsquo s vessels to the international market.

If Tan Sri Tiong going to step in to save NC , what is the debts in NC is nothing to him i guess.  You think he has no financial life lines to support NC.

He built NC 40 years back , will he wants to see NC collapsed, together along with his business reputations &   tarnish along with his other businesses.

If NC really collapses , think his reputations everything may just  goes down with him along with all his titles.

Perhaps he can just simply take NC private better so cheap now is the best time to do it  !

Think Tiong must have regretted making a wrong person to be his successor in NC.

Well, all three Swiber, EZRA, and Nam Cheong got very nice figures before the first two went belly up.   The differences between Swiber and EZRA is Swiber figures based on their last report is still very nice while EZRA has deteriorated alot.   Which one is better?   Actually now on hindsight, EZRA is better.   Why?   Because at least EZRA carry out impairment and even though price decline, those who are alerted to it can still get out.   Swiber give no one any chance to do this.

Now Nam Cheong has no contract wins for two years liao but did they impair any of their asset to be prudent?   So is it more similar to Swiber or EZRA?   But no worry now as the next big bill in in Sept.

Now that you got hidsight, do you want to turn it into foresight?

Honestly, a man of his today' s tycoon status and titles achievement (Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Su Kouk) sure means something in the society.

His contacts , networks and supports from his fellow  business communities should be strong and bonding if you read his news.

I am not sure why many will doubt his abilities that he cannot get any financial  life lines to support NC to be a " going-entity" and consider the fact that NC is a reputable & largest OSV shipbuilders in Malaysia. Everyone just think hard enough , you mean his reputation is at stake now that he will lost all financial supports and collapses !
