Yes, that basically what I meant. I also not optimistic on Super future growths n profitability. Whether its share price can maintain at $1 plus level in long term is really doubtful.

Actually, I thoguht px of coffee beans getting lower? But don' t know why our cuppa here never go down one. Spore px go up never come down one. Only share px come down never go up one. Anyway, Super is in a business where entry barriers are low. Products can easily be copied n competition can easily increase. When they first went into Burma, the novelty impact was there. Now, honeymoon over. Probably the shops there (n other countries where super operates) sure got so many brands already. Even they go into other instant f& b items, still very competitive n pressure on margins will always be there. So, any reason to be optimistic long-term?

Yes. I agreed with you. I cut my losses for this counter during its hell days period when its share price hovered around $1.18 range. I will avoid this counter forever as I think it very difficult for Super to regain back to rosy days times as the prices of its major ingredients are increasing and its profit margins are shrinking...

This counter become very volatile after the stock split.It was pretty stable when it was in the $3+ region. |

This is a Super " sick: counter - drop from 1.535 on 26 Mar to 1.385 today, - 10% over 3 weeks. Seems like the 1Q results to be released on Tuesday 12 May (after hours) is a foregone conclusion Ex-div on Moday 11 May will drop another 2c at least, to be expected. Super regrets to be vested here. |

in fact, ruble has been one of the top performing currencies this year if you look at year-to-date performance (marked against USD at least) although this might be correlated to the improving oil prices and stability in the region. of greater concern however is Super' s ability to penetrate the Russian market and capture market share with Food Empire having a well established presence in the area. |

It is the right time now for Super to have JV beverages business in Russia? Currently, Russia is still in suffering from slump in global oil price and its currency is now heavily depreciated. I think Super future incomes are having high risk of currency exchange losses if its new JV beverages business there deals in roubles. If oil price continue to stay weak, roubles may continues to weaken. | ||||
