Equinor awards Wisting FPSO Study Contract to Sevan SSP (Sembmarine' s wholly owned subsidiary)

 

Seatrium and NYSE-listed GE Vernova Inc have been awarded a third contract by TenneT to construct a 2 gigawatt (2GW) high voltage direct current (HVDC) electric offshore transmission system in the Netherlands.

 

The project is slated to begin in June. Commissioning is expected to take place in 2031.

 

The confirmation comes after TenneT notified Seatrium in February that it plans to commence work on the system on June 1.

 

The contract is part of the five-year framework cooperation agreement with TenneT announced by the consortium on March 30, 2023. The agreement was signed to cover three projects, each worth EUR2 billion. The current contract is for Nederwiek 2, which is located some 95km off the coast of the Netherlands the contracts for IJmuiden Ver Beta and IJmuiden Ver Gamma were awarded in March 2023.

 

Seatrium&rsquo s scope of work will include the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, and commissioning of the 2 GW HVDC offshore converter platform. GE Vernova' s grid solutions will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCI) of the HVDC converter stations.
