 Alert Admin 		The intention to exit the GEMS (energy coal) at this time of high thermal coal price is a clever move for Golden Energy. Perhaps an attractive offer for GEMS in Indonesia is coming once the    Senior Note Exchange programme is done.......Note: Recently Widjaja gave up its " Right of first Refusal" to purchase 30% of GEMS n let    Indonesia-based PT Radhika Jananta Raya acquired a 30% stake in Indonesian coal mine operator PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk from GMR Coal Resources Pte. Ltd. for $420.0 million in Sep' 22. 
My thinking is once Golden Energy sold its 62% GEMS, GEAR will hv alot of cash do some cash dividends distribution n by then Widjaja would hv alot cash to buyout the remindering 22.5% (574.79M    shares)    of GE.  It really doesn' t cost Widjaja family too money to take it private! Even at $1.50/share, it work out to be 574.79M x 1.50 = S$862.18M or US$608.18M only.

Since the global ESG issue, it is Widjaja desires/intention to sell its thermal coal business in Indonesia However the only question is when n at what price is considered as a good exit. It seems that there is no better time then now where thermal coal is near record high in decade. This shrewd n smart businessman family knows that the  Australia Metallurgical coal (Stanmore Resources), Gold (Ravenswood) & other renewable energy businesses they owned are more long lasting n very lucrative Australia assets in the future.  Analyist, CIMB yesterday has upgraded Stanmore Resources target price to $410 AUD.

This makes Golden Energy unbelievably cheap which owns 62.5% of GEMS n 64% of Stanmore n their combine Market Cap is (2.43B + 1.55B) = S$3.98B. The current Market Cap of Golden Energy is only S$2.39B. How can this happen in our market? Just the 62.5% of GEMS market cap is already bigger then its parent Golden Energy !
All this we hv not taken into consideration of GE other businesses n subsidiary (50% Ravenswood Gold mine) n Various investments in renewable energy projects in Asia.
With all of the above businesses Golden is easily worth S$1.50

 Alert Admin 		To exit the energy coal at high thermal coal price is good for Golden Energy Perhaps an attractive offer for GEMS in Indonesia is coming. Once GEMs is sold, Golden Energy can do some cash dividends distribution n focus on the Australia Metallurgical coal (Stanmore Resources), Gold   (Ravenswood) & other renewable energy businesses they owned. This may eventually pave the way   for Widjaja family to take GEAR private or buyout these lucrative Australia assets. This two-steps approach or strategy seems very possible...
