I am touched by your concern, so I cry. I am also struck by what you say about ' investors' in general and I feel sad for them, that is why I cried. But thank God, though I have made many investment mistakes in the past, most of these have been redeemed and I can safely say I now have more than enough for retirement and will not be buried in a pauper' s grave. Year 2019 their revenue hit record high of 16 billion thought net profit is lower than 2018. If not bcos of covid, SIA wouldn' t issue rights and hit $3+ low. Looking into future, i think SIA will redeem its mcb asap. Bcos mcb is a liability rather than an asset. It will cause another dilutation of its shares in 2030. Plus once vaccyis out, everybody will be out for travel, its business will strive by then. The critical point is when will the vaccine be out? I estimate its Dec this year. At least we may have some news about vaccine by then hopefully ....

The word long term investor sounds sexy, but in reality, all of us are no different from gamblers in casinos. Each of us bet in certain direction, whether up or down. U can do all the bullshit charts, FA, TA, whatever, end up is still a bet because the outcome is always uncertain, just like gambling. Those who long are betting price goes up and stk mkt is a zero sum game. None of us are angels. If angels, go donate direct to charity A tiny portion of us know when to stop, when to get out while making profits, when to short, while the rest just place long bet and pray it goes up. Each crisis (GFC, Covid in mar) presents these grp of people chance to buy at low price, but they dont have exit strategy. So they hold till next crisis and end up, over long run, suffer loss. May as well place FD or put in CPF SA acct. These news attracted suckers which allowed me to short at good price despite situation never change much for SIA.
