No minimum per trade. But minimum com is $15. So to avoid minimum sum issue and to preserve the ability to run with 1 bid, a trader will do a trade of $15K or higher. Com is 0.1% of transaction value inclusive of GST. No brokerage can beat that. Absolutely nobody can. And if you ask your cash account broker whether he can match that and offer you at 0.1% everything in including clearing fee, sgx fee and GST, be prepared for a dirty look plus swear words from him or her.

General AC, For counters like ST Engrg and Starhub and the likes, no brokerage can offer you the luxury of running with 1 bid. Not with a cash account. I am able to run with 1 bid only becoz I trade using a CFD account. If you are keen to know more, please PM me. Make 5 trades within 6 months and you receive a Hong Bao of $350.

Yes, General Lucky. A battle-hardened trader knows that a pullback is a good time to buy. A novice trader tends to wait for the price to recover and run first before he feels it is safe to buy. And end up buying at the high. One of my snipers came into the forum and remarked... " The market is a sea of red" . My response to him was... " What you see will depend on whether you are a pessimist or an optimist trader. A pessimist trader will, on a day like today, see the market as a sea of red. An optimist trader sees the market as a land of opportunities."

General Lucky, Whilst waiting for the monkey, I have been doing chicken runs between 3.36 and 3.38. Late yesterday, I sent Platoon 1 in at 3.36 at around 4.50pm hoping to match out at closing at 3.38. It didnt happen. So Platoon 1 is now having a BBQ at Foxhole 3.36 to wait for the return of the upwave. This morn, Platoon 2 went in at 3.32. Now standing by Platoon 3, 4 and 5 to wait for the BEARs to feel tired. Then they will move in to take up position. The monkey is not done. Results in mid-August. 5 cts dividends expected. The current price is probably within the monkey' s acceptable pullback limits. That' s why he didnt intervene. All the best to us !!! HUAT arrr !!!

Hi Comrade Lucy, Reading a monkey is never easy. Otherwise, how can a monkey beat us retail players to pulp and win all the time? When I mentioned the monkey' s footprints, I was referring to the price action of a counter over a period of time. And unfortunately, to observe the monkey' s footprints, there is no substitute to watching the price action all day realtime to see what the monkey is doing. The things I look out for are: - the monkey' s BUY-UP and SELL-DOWN trades in big lots. Is he buying more or selling more? The way he buys and buys and then sells and then buy again tells a story. The way he sells and sells and then buys and then sell again also tells a story. The pattern and sequence of his buying and selling tells a story. - whether the monkey keys in fake BUY and SELL orders and withdraws them tells a story. - whether the price pattern shows a higher low and higher high or a lower low and lower high tells a story. Observing the above to read the monkey is a combination of trading experience, intuition, common sense and some guesswork. It is not the best way to do the job but until something better comes along, this is the best I can think of.

Hi, still a newbie. Found Notibird' s take on monkey  vis a vis  stock interesting and enlightening. Notibird mentioned about monkey' s footprints. Can share how does one study the footprints and/or know a monkey' s trading traits. Please and thank you   |
