Everbright Water Secures Zhejiang Tongxiang West Area Drinking Water Sources Protection PPP Project Singapore and Hong Kong, 28 May 2019 &ndash China Everbright Water Limited (&ldquo Everbright Water&rdquo or the &ldquo Company&rdquo , stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK) (中 国 光 大 水 务 有 限 公 司 ), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that the Company has recently secured Zhejiang Tongxiang West Area Drinking Water Sources Protection Public-Private Partnership (&ldquo PPP&rdquo ) Project (&ldquo Tongxiang Project&rdquo or the &ldquo Project&rdquo ), with an investment of approximately RMB1.253 billion. Tongxiang Project will be invested in, constructed and operated on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model by a project company (the &ldquo Project Company&rdquo ) for a concession period of 20 years (including the construction period). The Project Company will be jointly established by an investor representative designated by the People&rsquo s Government of Tongxiang City and a consortium from the private sector that includes Everbright Water. Everbright Water will hold a 79.9% equity stake in the Project Company, while the investor representative of the local government will hold a 20% equity stake. Tongxiang Project involves the investment in, and the construction and operation of a wetland ecological engineering project, a new water pumping station and new raw water pipeline network, which will take up an area of 5,400 mu in total. Under the wetland engineering project, a parallel system will be developed to connect the north, middle and south areas of wetland, with each such area being operated independently. Water from these three areas will flow to a water intake area, and then be transferred to the local water plants through a pumping station. The total designed daily treatment capacity is 600,000 m3. In addition to the wetland ecological engineering project, the Project includes the construction of a pumping station and two raw water pipelines of 30 kilometers in length. Major indicators of discharged water from the wetland of the Project will comply with the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB3838-2002) (&ldquo Surface Water Quality Standard&rdquo ) for Category III, while some indicators could even comply with the Surface Water Quality Standard for Category II. Turbidity level of discharged water from the Project will be less than 30 NTU (nephelometric turbidity unit). Mr. An Xuesong, Executive Director and CEO of Everbright Water, said, &ldquo Tongxiang Project marks the first project of the Company in venturing into the business area of drinking water sources wetland protection, and is also the Company&rsquo s first environmental water project in Zhejiang Province. Securing the Project not only lays the foundation for the Company to explore the field of water environment treatment, but also strengthens its strategic development in Eastern China. After completing construction and commencing operation, Tongxiang Project will effectively upgrade the quality of water supply in Tongxiang City. In addition, it will improve the local water sources and strengthen the risk resistance capabilities of the local water plants. Everbright Water will fully leverage on its experience and advantages in the field of water environment treatment, and smoothly carry out the investment, construction and operation of the Project, to give a reliable assurance to the local residents of Tongxiang City in providing safe drinking water.&rdquo |
