Reuters is reporting that Petrobras is preparing to launch a tender to build Brazil& rsquo s largest-ever oil platform, according to two people with knowledge of the matter, as the state-controlled oil firm pushes ahead with ambitious plans to boost deepwater production.
Petrobras plans to launch the leasing tender for the FPSO by the end of August, the people said. Equivalent vessels for deepwater production have cost between US$2.5 billion and US$3 billion to build. Winners build and own the platforms, and lease them to Petrobras in contracts with daily rates of up to US$1 million that often last longer than 15 years. It will be the seventh FPSO in Buzios, Brazil& rsquo s second most productive field and one of the biggest deepwater discoveries this century, the people said. |

okay okay you win: Singapore Offshore and Renewable (SOR) and not Sembawang offshore and Renewable, because that reflects more the demerged situation. But as I had shared before, Keppel guys may not be too happy as they may also like your proposed name for their subsidiary.

Dear Ryan, I note that this is your first foray into SMM thread. You also started to post today on Share Junction. But if you want us to avoid SMM, at least put forth a few arguments for or against it so as to let us weigh the matter carefully. It is not so helpful to some of us who are used to detailed evaluation to just assert something even if you meant well. Thank you.

 The Japanese government said Thursday it is aiming to achieve a huge increase in offshore wind power capacity over a decade beginning next fiscal year. Japan currently has only four sites generating offshore wind power -- for a total of 20 megawatts of capacity -- although as an island country surrounded by the sea, experts say there is huge potential for wind farms. But now the government aims to approve three to four projects a year, starting from fiscal year 2021, according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, or METI. That means a total of 30 will be approved in the next 10 years
