GSS Energy Delivers Growth of
24.6% in Revenue to S$94.3 million and 6.7% in Gross Profit to S$19.1 million for FY2017 Net profit drop from 13mil to 4mil due to 1)absence of one time gain in FY16 (compensation from the Chinese govt) and 2)additional 2mil cost from drilling operations. Kinda expected? Especially the 9mil less from the Chinese govt... What's not written is how much has oil contributed though... Maybe nothing yet... At 4m profit, GSS Eps is 4m/496m = 0.0081, PE is 20.6 (@0.166)... Abit too high for a PE firm. However the oil business is still accorded zero value and assumed to not contribute to profit going forward. How much contribution to earnings for the next quarter is everyone's guess... |

I think 4Q won?t be good, till now not yet announced results. Looking at 4Q results from Sunningdale and Fu Yu, my guess is precision engineering business should be hit by exchange losses due to weakness of USD.

Anyway dont worry about last yr FY16 results.. because there was a 1 off gain. That might look like GSS profit less for this FY17. |

"For the first time in the past two years, 2018 will mark the first year of the oil and gas division being self-sufficient, should the production of oil and gas go according to plan. In other words, the cash from the precision engineering business will no longer be needed to fund its oil business.

The increase in cash position in FY19F (assume ceteris paribas) should be as such: [467 barrels x US$50 x 360 days - lifting cost paid to the operator but recoverable in the future (467 barrels x US$15 x 360 days)] * USDSGD1.34 = S$7.9m.
Before we get excited about the above, I wish to emphasise the following points. Firstly, the above is a back-of-the-envelope calculation. Secondly, I am not an analyst hence the above are my guesstimates. Thirdly, I use 30 working days per month. Although oil production may occur almost every day, there is likely to be some downtime as the oil equipment will undergo wear and tear and may need to be replaced. Fourthly, as most readers are aware, business in Indonesia can be subject to unforeseen delays. To offset the above ?aggressive estimates / unforseen circumstances?, I have put in the maximum lifting cost of US$15. GSS estimates lifting cost to be around US$10-15 / barrel."
For your reference :). This calculation is done assuming oil is $50 per barrel. Now oil huat and above $60. That's a 20% increase in the total potential earnings.

Ya understand.. Just that with 100 barrels a day atm, and even at 200+ barrels a day, dont know how much impact it will bring to the price even if they price in the oil earnings.. Lets see what hapoen after they release the next co. Financial report.. Vested

The current market cap and valuation did not even account for the oil business. Just based on semi con this guy is still under valued.
