M1, Keppel DC Reit finalise agreements on network asset deal
 
M1 is set to unlock value from S$580 million worth of its network assets, while Keppel DC Reit will invest a total of S$89.7 million into bonds and preference shares of the telco' s newly incorporated unit, M1 Network (NetCo).
 
In a joint statement on Thursday (Oct 14) night, Keppel DC Reit and the telco announced they have inked agreements for a proposed investment by the real estate investment trust (Reit) into NetCo.

Investment in NetCo will be accretive to DPU of Keppel DC Reit, providing stable cash flow for 15 years.

Wifi is limited to some places like hotel, hostel, not everywhere. 5G roaming services and pre-paid SIm card still on high demand while travelling. Wifi has been existing for many years, still parallel to pre-paid sim card and roaming services. Australia, India, Indonesia, Thailand also reopening borders, also benefiting Singtel.

In all world countries, many data centre (DC) companies are much highly profitable, citiing mostly 40%-70% revenue as EBIDTA. No matter how saturated or competitive the DC market is, DC companies always win. That' s Singtel' s wise move toward its fast growth. More 5G networks islandwide (CBD, Sentosa, Habourfront, Marina Bay, Orchard and many others), high density within the networks (e.g many enterprise and individual apps have 5G use) and more digital transformation spreading, more valuable DC will be! This can command high Price/EBIDTA of 25x to 30x. Can be parellel to Equinix, Keppel DC' s fast growth benefitiing much from interconnected ecosystem. So, no need to fight against the rivals. Digitalisation has been growing on upward trend ahead, thanks to Covid-19 pandemic. DC companies usually have a low capitalisation rate.

Singtel-Grab has existing mega million customers.They will likely adopt faster, thus narrowing loss or making profits in first year of operation given sustainable high margin. If so profit-made , SG will break the world record, beating China with recorded 1.5 years of making profits from digital banking.

Singtel may give its loyal shareholders a great surprise of unlocking high value from spinning-off activities.

As for SG operation, its revenue is $250M and EBITDA is 60% of this revenue. Thailand and Indonesia are bigger data market than SG for fast growth. Even oversea players already into the DC business like Equinix, DRT NTT etc... again where can fight being so late entering into a competitive market place?

3) Strong telco growth of Globe, Airtel, AIS and Telkosmel will add more revenue and profit, especially in term of 5G. Their share prices soared by 20%-40% recently. Comment : This one I agree ~~ however, look at the revenue created, all need to pour back into market one way or the other. Worst pour good $$ into bad place.. hee hee.

4) Digital growth and soon launching of digital banking in Sg and awaiting digital banking application result from Malaysia in early 2022. Comment : If depend on this die liao~~ dunno when will materialised with SickTel local " kings" , internal collaboration looks okie but seems practically impossible. Also digital banking needs many $$ too.

 Alert Admin 		You are right. Nothing unusual as both shortists and paper hands run fast fast. There are some big time gamblers. Buy 500-1000 lots and then sell few days later when they see profits. To some of big players, risking $1-2mil is better than putting in the bank with so low interest for 1 year.

Imagine for them buy 500 lots @ 247 = $1,235,000.
Sell 500 lots again @ 251 = $1,255,000.

Easy $20k profit. They will rely on their broker info.

Singtel is a stable stock and defensive stock. So, some will take a little risk to make quick bucks. If, it goes down they will buy more and average down and wait for it to shoot it again. Plus if their timing is good, they will scoop some dividends along the way.
