x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	If one really wants to get into SMarine, it is better to examine the financials, how many orders outstanding, pending cancellation, available and due credit etc. EvenTH doesn' t have bottomless pocket.   They may merge SM into Sembcorp at prevailing price. So far Sembmarine has been lucky with their cheap bond issues at less than 4%.   THey may not get such cheap credit in future. Alternatively wait for retrenchment.   A lot of oil companies have been doing that.   But TH companies dislike that - look bad. Or wait for the all time low to break - $1.23

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Surely oil price is related to sembmarine problem.   Liquidity and valuation of oil company are wiped out.   Order cancellation is delayed till now and more will come.   It' s going to be uglier than 2008.   My advice is don' t touch this counter unless u think oil is going to rebound strongly in the short term.   To a lesser extent sembcorp and keppel as well but they have other biz.

For Sembmar, it is another issue for order cancellation and order postpone which will create problem on liquidity and cash flow propblem. Even oil can bounce up from 35 to 50-60, it still cannot help Sembmar for their order cancellation and postpone. Their clients basically have no ability to obtain the financial assitance from banks to take over the rigs, without the junk of rig orders with 12 billion, no doubt current price is very attractive and they still can survive with ship repair or upgrading job to survive through this downturn, but with 12billion rig orders back lock, the situation is unknown and quite risky. Now basically cannot compare with 2008-2009 downturn since at that time Sembmar didn' t really load with so much order book which are either half way or 90% completion without any payment. In next 3-6months is very challenging for Sembmar to look for solution not to let all these orders to create cash flow problem to them. So quite sure that there will not be dividend and bonuses to be paid to staffs and share holders in next year. sriramanv      ( Date: 13-Dec-2015 19:46) Posted: I am not saying loading now. My point is oil cannot stay low longer as it may create many geopolitical events.
