unless govt around the world is able to vaccinate the ppl at lightning speed.. and also provided ppl are willing to accept the vaccine given the rush it is made.. as we know, normally vaccine takes many years to study the effectiveness and side effects and the immunity duration it can render.. but cos the world is so desperate for vaccine, it has come to a point where the vaccine produced could be only a make-shift solution.. ppl who gonna take the vaccine has to hope that there is no side effects years down the road.. for air travel to return, basically covid cases has to drop, or if covid potency drops such that ppl no longer fear covid and think of it like a flu.. for cases to drop, we have to hope that the vaccine is gonna be effective in the long run (something which is not proven yet), and also govt is able to vaccinate ppl fast without too much logistical issues, and then also making it compulsory for ppl to take vaccine..

It just takes One asymptomatic carrier to pass the virus to others around to start a new wave of infections. Noboady knows how many asymptomatic carriers are around us. The only way to know is to test every single person here just like what they did in some cities in China.

I wanted to add that what happened in HK serves a very useful lesson for us in Singapore. First, that the virus is active amongst us even as it is undetected. Second, super spreader events are possible in densely populated cities. Third, we can never let down our guard against this virus that is becoming harder to detect and to trace. The fight against Covid has only intensified. We let down our guard now, and we will experience a surge in cases, like in HK now.

Dance cluster brings Covid infection in HK to three-month high Local | 22 Nov 2020 6:44 pm Another 46 people have been infected in the dancing cluster which sparked an explosion in cases as the city enters the fourth wave of Covid-19 upsurge. Authorities reported 68 newly confirmed coronavirus cases yesterday - the highest daily number in three months and the worst day so far in the fourth wave, as experts warn the number could easily hit a daily 200 unless the government act swiftly to curb the winter surge. On the 68 fresh cases, Centre for Health Protection' s Chuang Shuk-kwan said they were 31 males and 37 females, 17 to 81, comprising seven imported, 50 linked to previous local infections and 11 from unknown local sources. The tally rose to 5,629 including 108 deaths. The general market direction is up. Optimism and increasing chance of a vaccine to be administered sooner than later will fuel buying to position for post Covid world. SIA is one stock that many bbs will be looking to push up soon. Hence shortlists must beware. The bull is here and he can gore many shortlists in the coming weeks. As us presidential elections settle and a smooth transition is in place, I will not rule out a December rally baring a surge in Covid cases that cause massive job losses and extensive lockdowns. | ||||
