Do you think SCI want to buy off the remaining stake (40%) of Semb Marine for at least SGD1.25b base on current mkt value? And moreover they are also quite highly geared and negative cash flow. At this stage, everyone think Semb Marine will make a huge loss but they may have already collected a lot of downpayment and most probably the loss is much lower than mkt anticipated. At most, they lost the orders and impact their revenue but that won' t have a big impact on their PL. Think Semb Marine can sustain on their own with lower revenue and probably negative profit for a while till oil price rise up again.

So it boil down who gona do NS, it semb corp or Keppel corp left or right bad for investors even semb marine investors had to take losses as stock valuation drop by 50%. After this news short sellers all cover on those 3 jokers stocks of the year. |

They are 3 MNC companies, market is not within singapore market. They build rigs, buildings, utility facilities to the world.

Makes some sense too. But then u really will be having a giant engaged in so many industries - OnM, power, property solid wast collection n disposal (right now SCI is doing collection n KC disposal) data centre, Telecoms, other facilities management, other infrastuctural business overseas, just too hard to be exhaustive. Might possibly become too unwieldly to manage one day.

I think sembcorp may not buy over sembarine. Sembcorp share is already so low. How much can they offer to sembmarine ? It cant be more than its share price right? It will definite affect sembcorp share price. | ||||

In fact, this KC buy SMM sounds to me a very good move n logical. I mean, why have two TH coys competing in the global mkt for practically the same kind of contracts. I see a lot of synergies, but of course as an outsider - unless there are other overriding considerations only TH knows.

Pray hard kc buy over semb marine then semb corp since it can pocket mil off 60% stake lol. If forced to take semb marine, it bye bye to dividend. It who die either semb corp or keppel corp |
