To anwser u ?... 1) if u short and failed to cover back the same day.... ur shorted script will be buyin by sgx and sgx fail to cover back by then there will be a fine... 2) & 3) as long as u indicated you shorted ..... it will be appear in the sgx short sell list.... 4) u can short as long as u want... 5)& 6 like i say in question 2& 3 Your last question...
no u cant use cpf to short....

Still not very clear of short selling. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong
1) if using own $ short selling must buy back within the same day, if not will be fine. 2) If those that never buy back successfully will it appear in SGX short sell list? 3) If successfully buy back will it appear in SGX short sell list? 4) if using CFD short selling even did not buy back within the same day will not get fine? 5) if using CFD short selling & never buy back on the same day will it appear in the SGX short sell list? 6) if using CFD short selling & buy back on the same day will it appear in the SGX short sell list? 6) can use CPF for short selling? Thanks. |

Crude palm oil futures on Malaysia’s derivatives exchange rise to a one-week high, buoyed by increased shipments as buyers stockpile ahead of the Muslim fasting month that starts in July, market participants say. Cargo surveyor SGS says June 1-15 palm oil exports are up 15.7% on month at 707,148 tons on higher shipments to Pakistan and China. However, a weaker macroeconomic environment and increasing global vegoil supplies may cap gains, Citi Research says in a note. " Unless export momentum grows more strongly in the next few months, inventories may start rising again post-Ramadan July" as the sector moves into a seasonally higher production period. Benchmark August CPO ends 0.9% higher at MYR2,459/ton after hitting MYR2,467/ton, the highest since June 10. CBOT August soyoil is up 0.4% at 48.62 cents/lb in screen trade. |

Those who naked short on friday and try to buy back at the end of the day must be feeling the pain.A 10 lot trade will easily cost the shortist 1k loss at least.A swing of 10c was noticed at the preclosing. |

Frankly speaking I dont really see this short sell report nowadays.This is with the understanding that the short sell trade were supposed to be covered before end of the trading day.Unless he/she is prepared to be penalised.If any, the % should be very small.As far as I know, this report do not include the CFD account holder which is not track under here.

JAKARTA (REUTERS) - Indonesia on Friday blamed eight companies, including Singapore's Sinar Mas and Asia Pacific Resources International (APRIL), for fires raging on its island of Sumatra that have sent hazardous levels of smog to neighbouring Singapore. " The majority of hotspots in Riau (province) are inside APRIL and Sinar Mas concessions," senior presidential aide Kuntoro Mangkusubroto told Reuters. The environment minister said not all eight companies were Singapore based, but declined to name the rest of them. |

Short sale value on Friday was 38.8 million !! almost 4 times of Thursday's short sale value !! Scary counter... Think got pumped up all the way to 5pm and then pushed down the closing price... SART Will avoid this counter until can see the roads ahead..haze didnt help either... if found evidence linked to haze then good luck... below 3 coming... |
