It is highly possible and may happen by Friday. This is based on similar rerating of Centurion, Boustead and LHN as well as to certain extend, APAC. All have been trading well above their respective books now. Even my old flame China Sunsine out of the blue without any new story also is trading above its book now. I think market is bullish and if a stock has good earnings, high cash and rerating story, it will get push up. How high depends on how market view the future prospects of the rerating story. For YZJF, it is converting its high cash into the focus maritime business for 10-20% returns. My personal target is for it to hit EPS of at least 8 to 10 cents for a start. The post spin YZJF and YZJM should have no problem trading above book and or at least 10x PE if the managements get it right.

Price tested 1.19 several times but wall is thick. Need more to believe above 1.20 is archivable. With that, the q to sell at 1.19 will be much smaller. |

Btw, I didn' t really set a TP to sell. Not before news of spin off. Definitely not now. I rather wait, give both counters sometime to prove themselves. |

shifting goal post higher for this stock is valid as the situations has become more favorable compared to jsut listed. at first it was over sold as some shareholders who got it as distributions have not same mandate. plus some who are worry about china real estate as collateral not confident of the DI business. so over sold. 30-36 plus region is best to buy. then as time progress DI debt looks like can collect back. then boss step in to restart in his old field of maritime related business to ride on the maritime building up cycle. now in addition we have interest rate down cycle. so their money management, investment in pre list entities, wealth managent will also benefits as more money pour into equities and bond. it is now not just a dividend stock. also a growth stock. |

Market has finally given premium to the book value of YZJF as it trades decisively above its NAV. This shows that the market thinks the maritime businesses that the post spin YZJM is going to embark on is viable. Having said that, the premium is not too high at the moment which is understandable as it is still early days. This contrast with Boustead where their potential values (RNAV) are now clearly realisable with the planned listing of a reit, and market has priced it much higher than its current NAV. Nonetheless, keeping both for the foreseeable future as both are paying good dividends. | ||||

Yangzijiang Financial closes higher amid heavy trading, hits record in intra-day trade
The company will be added to STI&rsquo s reserve list, comprising the five highest-ranking non-constituents of the index by market capitalisation
[SINGAPORE] Shares of Yangzijiang Financial : YF8 +7.41% hit an all-time high on Friday (Sep 12) morning.
The stock climbed to S$1.17 at 9.43 am, with some 24.8 million shares transacted. This was 8.3 per cent or S$0.09 higher than its closing price of S$1.08 on Thursday.
ShareInvestor data showed this was also the highest price Yangzijiang Financial shares have reached since it was spun off from Chinese vessel-maker Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in April 2022.
The counter eventually ended Friday at S$1.16, up by 7.4 per cent or S$0.08, with around 47.8 million shares changing hands. It was the fourth-most actively traded counter on the Singapore Exchange for the day.
Yangzijiang Financial will be added to the Straits Times Index&rsquo s reserve list from Sep 22. This list comprises the five highest-ranking non-constituents of the index by market capitalisation.
Its market cap stood at S$3.76 billion as at Thursday, SGX data indicated.

The company in August recorded a 28 per cent rise in its first-half net profit, which stood at S$137.7 million, compared with S$107.4 million in the year-ago period.

Yangzijiang Financial&rsquo s principal businesses comprise investment management and debt investment.

[SINGAPORE] Shares of Yangzijiang Financial : YF8 +7.41% hit an all-time high on Friday (Sep 12) morning, as the investment management firm ranked as the top-traded stock on the Singapore Exchange (SGX).
As at 9.43 am, the counter climbed 8.3 per cent or S$0.09 from Thursday&rsquo s S$1.08 close to S$1.17, with some 24.8 million shares transacted.
This was the highest price Yangzijiang Financial shares have reached since its spin-off from Chinese vesselmaker Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in April 2022, ShareInvestor data showed.

Even after spin off, both companies NAV and market cap are still in the range of 2b, which is significantly higher than most companies not in STI. Of course market cap is likely to change for YZJF and YZJM post spin, with 1 down and 1 up expected but both should still qualify for the new index, if it come to fruition. |
