Tun Mahathir not on hunger strike. New Straits Times by ARNAZ M. KHAIRUL 4 hours ago
KL: Aides to Dr M have rubbished rumours that the former premier has gone. Following Dr M non-appearance, rumours began circulating that the 90-yo had gone on hunger strike. Matthias Chang. Upon his detention under Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) 2012. Chang announced at Dang Wangi police station he planned to go on a hunger strike. Chang was defending Batu Kawan Umno chief Datuk Seri Khairuddin Hassan, also detained under Sosma, and was arrested after visiting the latter at the same police station. This is the 2nd time in five years that Chang, a close associate of Dr Mahathir, went on a hunger strike. The latter had convinced him to end the protest fast in in 2010, when Chang had gone for 9-days without consuming solid food while in detention at Kajang Prison. Dr M, the former premier was by no means on a hunger strike himself following his spate of criticism of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the threat of arrest under Sosma also issued to him. Dr M was taken down by thick haze, was seriously down with fever and a very bad cough, brought about by hazy conditions. teeth53 thot - Dr M is a old man and cannot tahan for long, his only thought is his son and when Najib is out n down. Dr M time is running short....?.

14 M'sian Isis fighters killed, many more turn suicide bombers. M'sian Insider.
Fourteen Malaysians fighting alongside the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (Isis) have been killed in the two countries, The Star reports. Malaysians who joined ISIS gang have become snipers and suicide bombers in Iraq, a boost from being relegated to cleaning n guarding camps as reported. Quoting Bukit Aman's special branch counter terrorism division head Datuk Ayub Khan, the paper said some Malaysians carry out special mission. "The presence of Isis in Syria is quite solid, the grp is losing control over Iraq." ?Our intelligence shows that they are relying more on Malaysians now to carry out strike missions against several key structures in Iraq,? he told The Star. Ayub said the M'sians were picked from the Khatibah Nusantara cell, consisting of Malay-speaking members, to join the special ops squads. The Star said latest development was revealed due to the deaths of three M'sians in Iraq, Zid Saharani Mohamed Esa, Muhamad Syazani Mohd Salim, and Fadzly Ariff Zainal Ariff. Zid, 43, went to Syria via Turkey, July last yr, died fighting the Iraqi forces in Bayji, Iraq, on Aug 29. ?He was one of the snipers assigned to take out targets at an Iraqi govt structure in Bayji," adding that Zid was involved with Kumpulan Mujahidin M'sia and was detained under Internal Security Act (ISA) in 2002. Syazani went to Syria with his brother Muhamad Syazwan on Sept 23 last year, and was killed fighting Iraqi soldiers, while Fadzly was a burger seller who was killed on Sept 26 after driving a truck filled with seven tonnes of explosives towards a bridge in Fallujah. ?Our intelligence indicates that Fadzly Ariff, known as Abu Ubaidah, had attempted suicide bombings twice but failed as his explosives malfunctioned,? Ayub added. Fadzly?s mother Azizah Md Yusof was detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act on April 28 last year for supporting ISIS. Ayub told The Star. It was difficult to get DNA samples to verify the identity of the dead M'sians. At Bt Aman had so far identified 69 M'sians in Syria with ISIS. "The trend of militants joining other terror grps such as Al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra has stopped with all of them joining ISIS Gang." M'sian Insider had previously reported that many M'sians who joined Isis included young families with children who felt that Malaysia was not Islamic enough. Many had been influenced by Isis through social media. Police have arrested scores of people nationwide for alleged links to the terror group. Ten suspected Isis members were nabbed in multiple raids 2-months ago for plotting an attack on Malaysian soil. Last month, US Embassy in KL advised its citizens to avoid popular tourist stretch Jalan Alor and surrounding areas, after the authorities received credible information on a potential terrorist attack following the arrests of Isis militants. ? Responding to Mahathir&rsquo s latest blog, he had worked hard  making Najib the 6th prime minister, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak said. Some delusional that  he can think, he can  decides who should or should not lead the country, as if the democratic  system is no longer there, in plce on  how we choose leaders and governments is no longer exists.  &ldquo In 2013, Najib led Barisan Nasional in the general election and the ruling coalition won that election. So, in 2013, it was the people or voters, not Mahathir, who made Najib the prime minister. Mahathir was just one voter, among 11 million voters,&rdquo the communications and multimedia minister said in his blog today. Mahathir said he had worked hard to make the latter prime minister, he now wanted Najib to go as he had &ldquo failed terribly&rdquo . Salleh said  old man  could make such claims as for  Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi,  not Najib&rsquo s, Badawi  predecessor. &ldquo After all,  Mahathir did appoint Abdullah as his deputy and eventually resigned and handed the country to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.  &ldquo It was Abdullah who appointed Najib as his deputy. If anyone can claim,  is Abdullah who can make that claim," Salleh added. &ldquo Mahathir is not Najib&rsquo s boss who can sack him as he pleases.  Mahathir has no right -   26 Sept 2015. |

China launches joint naval drills with Malaysia in Strait of Malacca with more than 1,000 PLA troops ![]() ![]() China has kicked off its first joint military drill with Malaysia with more than 1,000 Chinese troops involved - the largest ever between Beijing and an Asean country, with analysts saying that the exercise would raise eyebrows in the United States and Japan. The six-day drill starting from Thursday includes exercises for joint search and rescue, hijacked vessel rescue, and disaster relief in the Strait of Malacca, a strategically important waterway through which 80 per cent of China' s oil imports pass, Chinese media said.

Salleh said that in the book, " Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times" , Wain wrote that when Dr Mahathir took office in 1981, his administration was almost immediately embroiled in financial scandals that " exploded with startling regularity" . This despite the administration' s slogan of " Bersih, Cekap, Amanah" (clean, efficient, trustworthy). Salleh noted that according to Wain, by the early 1990s, cynics remarked that it had been " a good decade for bad behaviour, or a bad decade for good behaviour" . " Dr Mahathir never sued Wain so the allegations remain. And because Dr Mahathir did not sue Wain, does this mean the allegations are true?" he said. The minister drew a parallel between the situation of Dr Mahathir and the one faced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak against whom WSJ had made certain allegations. Salleh said the argument was that if the allegations were not true, Najib should sue WSJ, and that if the prime minister refused to sue, then that could only mean the allegations were true and Najib was therefore guilty. " If Najib refuses to sue the WSJ, Dr Mahathir says that can only mean the allegations are true," he said, alluding to what appears to be hypocrisy on Dr Mahathir' s part. &ndash Bernama, September 22, 2015 See more at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malay...sJEY8.dpuf

Communications and Multimedia Minister. Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak asked why Mahathir did not sue a former Wall Street Journal (WSJ) editor. Who claimed that the Mahathir had squandered vast sums of money during his rule. " According to ex-WSJ editor Barry Wain, Mahathir had squandered estimated RM100 bil during his 22-year rule." Writing on his blog  he said that amount, say in 1990, was worth RM225 billion today. |
