There is some international precedent for a national postal service with minimum service obligations being taken over. It happened in the UK: Royal Mail was bought by EP Group owned by Kretinsky who is from the Czech Republic!

No, Singtel will not come out to support Singpost.
Unless Singpost becomes a top telecommunications company.

Do not worry on the news, I still made profit even the price drops to 44c. Singpost is a good stock. I think Singtel will come out to support Singpost. Left hand and right hand are Singapore favourite stocks to invest. The stock price will goes back above 50c. Have confident, Singpost gives good dividend.

FedEx collaborationFedEx' s nationwide rollout to all POPStop locations in Singapore followed a pilot program at a limited number of locations. POPStops are dedicated service counters at retail stores that allow customers to take care of e-commerce shipping tasks. FedEx customers also have the ability to drop packages at SingPost post offices.  With the addition of SingPost outlets, FedEx now offers over 410 drop-off locations across Singapore including SingPost' s Parcel Santa lockers located in condominium developments. SingPost facilitates e-commerceEarlier this month, SingPost expanded its POPStop network to more than 160 staffed Cheers convenience stores across Singapore. By embedding postal services within neighborhoods, sellers on digital marketplaces such as TikTok Shop and buyers can enjoy quick hassle-free access to shipping services close to home and work, the postal agency said in a news release. |

I understand where you are coming from but liquidation math doesn' t work as Singpost has to remain operational by law. So any further divestment will follow the same math as the sale of its AU business - share price reduced by capital + future profit loss. Net result is further share price erosion into a smaller business with no exit unless (a) there is business turnaround or (b) nationalization.  |

It is a good strategy if you are buying into a stock at a price significantly below book value, and it sells assets at book value or above and distributes dividend. If let' s say you buy at 0.5x book value and the company liquidates itself at book value you double your money. |

Not to offend anyone here but buying a stock hoping that it sells assets and distributes dividend is not a good strategy. When a company distributes dividend from profits, the share price drop but will recover as the profit engine is intact. But when a company distributes dividend by selling profit generating assets, the share price will drop more and likely not recover as it  reflects a loss of both capital and future profits.   This is why the share price has not recovered from the 9 cents dividend. If you want to buy, then do it because you believe Singpost new strategy will increase earnings, not further asset disposal. |

I think singpost building may be value at 1.1b.is about 48.8 cents per share. Plus other divestment gains may be another 9 cents. Less 15%_ 20% fair value may be 56 cents. Dyodd

I have to presume that Spore1 has done his homework, 7.8c per share if you are talking about the health or financial strength of the coy ... it cut both ways because it can be a sign of strength or a sign of inefficiency. if it is before the regime change, i will take the latter. however with the series of changes happening i probably will gravitate toward the former which is a sign of strength. with 7.8c cash per share, 18%of SP' s price 43.5c   is backed by cash which is a very significant amount. will continue to monitor the movement

Took action again yesterday. Some are negative on this stock, understandably.. so long as you buy and does not cause you to lose sleep, it will be alright
