some good blue chips cause sti to start green. retail investors thought the bull is back - rush to get it high. BUT Asian EM doubts still lingers. US tapering........and china data slights.........are still all there...... the green this morning not likely to sustain.... Hope I am wrong. |

Recently, Forbes columnist - sparked controversial concerns, claiming the city-state's economy was in the midst of a ballooning credit bubble and faced risks of an Icelandic-style economic crash. DJ's performance and Asian currency turmoil are not link. Even before, DJ can be green, STI can be red for days due to Asian's EM issue that remain to be played out.(UNCERTAINITY) However, Green dow closing could provide positive psychology on opening market hour. Its also opportunity for Holders wanting to be on the outside looking in to SELL. Look at the pattern. Both sti and HSI are sliding - very likely red again. Most gain for stocks is falling back and infact many have totally lost its gain and is seeing red again................................. Those whom went in on opportunity buy for mid or long.need not look at the price for this week or next. Those in for contra are getting worried as the market have no strength and probably is dumping at cost and lost service charges. One day Green DOW is not a true indicator of market real sentiments. Many holders holding cash are just watching and waiting for opportunity to hop on their target stocks. Its just a question of when - when it happens, price will rocket back up from more buying than selling............................ |

Welcome Janet: Worst February Start For Stocks In 32 YearsThe Nasdaq plunged by the most in over 8 months today and broke all the way back to unchanged from the December taper decision of the Fed. All major US equity indices are now negative from the time the Fed decided to slow its flow of free money. The Dow closed below its 200DMA for the first time since December 2012. The S& P 500 closed the furthest below its 100DMA since QE3 started. USDJPY was in charge and everything was higher or lower beta off of that as it broke 102 early then 101 later in the day (with the Nikkei -700 points from the day's highs). Treasuries rallied around 5bps to fresh 7-month low yields for 30Y. Gold and Silver surged, adding 1% on the day as the USD lost 0.25% on the day (led by the 1% strength in the JPY). VIX smashed to 14 month highs over 21%. Credit deteriorated but stocks are catching down. Just 8 hours into her reign, QEeen Janet has some work to do... " Not off the lows"
