5 years to burn 3bil, this one 1q burn 600mil how to compare basically it burn off nol annual losses in 1 quarter. If sete brasil bankrupt, next quarter would breach 1 billion losses that a record few sg companie can beat

Sembcorp Marine: Post 4Q15 Net Loss Of S$536.9 Million Vs 4Q14 Net Profit Of S$174 Million, Cut Final Dividend To S$0.02.15 Feb 2016 17:15 On a quarterly basis, Group turnover for 4Q 2015 was $1.33 billion, 8% lower compared with $1.44 billion previously mainly due to the lower revenue recognition from rig building in the quarter. Contributions from Offshore Platforms and Repairs & Upgrades were higher. Prior to impairment and provisions and share of losses from associates/joint ventures, 4Q2015 net profit would have been $99 million. The Board of Directors recommends the payment of a final ordinary one-tier tax exempt dividend of 2.00 cents per share, 8.00 cents previously... |

My take is that even if it will be taken private, it won' t be at this price. They' ll let the price go back to below $1 before making an offer to take it private, just like they did more than 10 years ago. Doesn' t make sense to pay more to take a company private when it hasn' t bottomed yet. |

Looks really bad. Huge impairments done this Q and there' s more to come in coming quarters. Significant cash drain to their coffers and net debt rose to 2.8bn, the highest in recent years. Final dividend cut from 8 cent to 2 cent. Not sure how many more funds will want to continue to hold this baby. |
