A single app and payment platform across both Singapore and Malaysia integrates the ecosystem

 

[SINGAPORE] ComfortDelGro Engie on Thursday (Sep 25) announced that it will be the electric vehicle (EV) charging point operator for various sites managed by LHN Energy and Yinson GreenTech.

 

The venture will expand the EV charging infrastructure and services provider&rsquo s network to more than 2,100 active charge points across Singapore and Malaysia. 

 

It is also part of the company&rsquo s partnership with ecosystem players &ndash such as infrastructure owners, original equipment manufacturer charger distributors, and small to mid-sized EV charging point operators &ndash to optimise network operations and platform solutions, as well as enhance charging accessibility and utilisation.

 

At these sites, ComfortDelGro Engie will oversee system monitoring, hardware maintenance and user experience.

 

In addition, the latest collaboration will broaden access to charging points and enhance reliability and convenience in services.

 

Through the CDG Engie app, users will be able to tap into a larger network of more than 1,600 charging points in Singapore and with Yinson&rsquo s chargEV chargers, they will also gain a cross-border charging option in Singapore and Malaysia.

The company&rsquo s general manager, Freddie Chew, noted that ComfortDelGro Engie has been &ldquo delivering reliable, high-performing, large-scale EV infrastructure on time&rdquo since winning Singapore&rsquo s inaugural EV charging tender in 2021.

 

He added that the provider is &ldquo best placed to support long-term growth&rdquo and innovation of the EV charging ecosystem with its partners, as they leverage each other&rsquo s expertise to meet market demands.

 

EVs accounted for 41 per cent of new car sales in Singapore in the first half of 2025, representing a 63.2 per cent increase compared to the year prior. 

 

The Singapore government aims to install charging points at all publicly accessible car parks by 2030, in line with its net-zero emissions by 2050 goal and an expected increase in Certificate of Entitlement supply.

 

[SINGAPORE] Travellers heading to Johor Bahru can book a cross-border ride from anywhere in Singapore through ComfortDelGro&rsquo s (CDG) hotline from Sep 25.

 

The transport giant announced the new initiative in a Facebook post on Thursday (Sep 18). 

 

Most trips will cost a fixed fare of S$80. But pick-ups from Ban San Street taxi stand will cost S$60, while those from the airport will cost S$120, it said.

 

In response to queries from The Straits Times, a CDG spokesperson said all its 90 cabbies with a valid cross-border taxi licence will be available for this service.

 

Customers can call the CDG hotline on 6552-1111 to make an immediate booking, or reserve a ride up to 24 hours in advance, the spokesperson said.

 

Customers will be dropped off at Larkin Sentral Terminal in Johor Bahru &ndash the designated drop-off point for Singapore taxis.

 

&ldquo We recognise the growing demand for cross-border transportation and are committed to expanding our travel options for passengers, as well as more earning opportunities for our cabbies,&rdquo the spokesperson said.

 

The move follows efforts to improve cross-border services between Singapore and Malaysia.

 

In a Facebook post on Sept 2, the Land Transport Authority acknowledged that such improvements could include designating more pick-up and drop-off points.

 

Under the existing reciprocal cross-border taxi scheme, a licensed fleet of up to 200 taxis from each side can ferry passengers between Singapore and Johor Bahru.

 

These taxis can pick up and drop off passengers at only a designated point in each country &ndash Larkin Sentral Terminal in Johor Bahru for Singapore taxis, and Ban San Street Terminal in Rochor for Malaysian taxis

The bid will mark the third collaboration between CDG and RATP Dev

 

[SINGAPORE] KBH Metro Partner, a consortium formed by ComfortDelGro (CDG) and RATP Dev, has been officially pre-qualified to bid for the upcoming operations and maintenance contract for the Copenhagen Metro.

 

The bid will be the third collaboration between CDG and RATP. The two companies previously worked on Singapore&rsquo s Jurong Region Line through the One Rail partnership, as well as the automated Line 15 South in Greater Paris as part of the ORA consortium with French rail player Alstom.

 

A CDG press statement announced the pre-qualification on Tuesday (Sep 16). The consortium will compete against a &ldquo strong field of international applicants&rdquo , it said.

 

&ldquo KBH Metro Partner intends to demonstrate how the consortium partners&rsquo know-how in operational performance, system integration, digital solutions and beyond will not only meet but also exceed expectations of Copenhagen Metro users,&rdquo added the statement.

 

Both CDG and RATP aim to leverage their prior rail expertise gained from working in areas such as Singapore, Paris and Sydney for their contract bid in the Danish capital. Copenhagen&rsquo s metro is fully automated and is one of three rapid transit systems in the world to operate for 24 hours across all seven days in the week.

 

CDG operates the North East Line in Singapore, the world&rsquo s first automated heavy-rail metro system, as well as the Downtown Line. It also operates the Auckland One Rail in New Zealand and will start running Tunnelbana, Stockholm&rsquo s iconic metro network, at the end of this year. 

 

Meanwhile, RATP has experience running metro lines in Paris, Lyon, Sydney, Doha and Riyadh.

The updated logo includes a revised blue hue, a lowercase font, and an arrow motif, which the company says represent reliability, collaboration, and a forward-looking approach.

The rebranding will be rolled out gradually across ComfortDelGro global operations
