Non Interest Income was down...A disappointment NII up by 14% compared to last quarter Specific provisions up - and will be up in subsequent quarters given the inflation/recession trends. DBS NII should perform better.  Hopefully, its non-interest income too esp its trading income. Specific provisions would be up in line with deteriorating credit market. Yes, sell on news.. |

I did advise to sell 50% BEFORE results
The problem is many institutional Ang Moh want to sell all banks into the results They want cash to offset losses elsewhere China property issues is just an excuse I cause u haven?t noticed they are even selling SIA into strength Same will happen to OCBC and DBS on results announcement |

The writings are already on the wall with cash-strapped Chinese developers. All desperate to raise cash with homeowners boycotting mortgage loans with banks due to uncompleted projects. Any investments in China' s property market, whether directly or indirectly, is highly likely to suffer negative consequences. The proeprty bubble that burst is too hugh to mend by anybody, including the country' s leadership. Unchecked leveraged and greedy developers. Whether the lawsuit will be successful is uncertain too, given different foreign jurisdiction. But even if successful, can the re-allocated assets be recovered is also uncertain. Maybe has to write-it off as doubtful/bad debts.   |

Singapore stock market is rather inefficient ...majority investors comprises of Singaporean...biz model focus on rewarding shareholder , less on R& D, major acquisitions,growth strategy...need to move out of Singapore market..there where the growth stories are..just my opinion....
