I think you can argue that it is not as bad as I made it out to be, but saying that it is a positive I don&rsquo t think is a balanced assessment. One point to add is that the company is already net cash on b/s. It does not need to raise equity and cause this pain on shareholders. If the market agrees with your perspective then the share price will rise post the trading halt. I doubt it though. The only good thing is that if it does fall more than 5% at some point then it allows me to buy at a cheaper price than the people buying in the placement. |

The way I look at it is positive. Some value investor wants a pie of a solid company. At least, the placement price is a mere 5% discount to the last close, speaking the genuine of the placement. Some other kelong companies would place the placement price at more than xx% discount from the last close. This Company is solid. Cheers. |

Terrible announcement. Why do a capital raise when the price is so low? And just a placement at a discount to selected investors, but no rights issue for existing investors to participate so they don' t get diluted. Terrible. |

Am always a bit surprised why trading halts relating to prepared announcements take so long on SGX. In other countries there would not be trading halts at all - the announcement would come before market open, and then it would become public information with no need for a halt. | ||
