Additional depreciation cost in the future? (I know you want to say free cash flow, but will it lower the return on asset as SS is building up its asset). New outlets opportunity in sg, will be more expensive to rent? As SS didnt win the bid for some store. If SS get the new hdb shop, will it be winner curse? (Lower net profit margin in the future? As their GP is very high at the moment)

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Rather than looking for new strategic location to open stores, they should provide delivery to whole of Singapore. ​ Although they have 1 to 2 yrs ahead of competitors, their delivery is still only in NE region only. and you have to buy at least S$100 for delivery (amazon is S$40) https://www.allforyou.sg/

But then, nowadays even items like clothes which used to people like to try out, also popular online. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Looks like you never really buy heavy stuffs at supermarts I suspect and stuck in long queues. ​ To save all these trouble, I would prefer to order online and wait for delivery since it is cheaper competitive in terms of pricing to order and delivery is free.

Saw many big overseas one come and go after one another. turpin      ( Date: 18-Aug-2017 15:05) Posted: Short term wise I do believe SS is oversold. Amazon effect will be mid and longer term. So is Kumming, not sure if will work, but successful or not Kumming will be a good exposure for SS overall. I also shop online more nowadays for electrronics and household, but I still go fairprice, wet market and hawker centers, no change there. I am  hearing more people going SS (away from NTUC), but my colleagues are pretty much still clueless about Amazon.sg. In time all these development will impact on bottom line, but then again time will tell how. Also noted that selling volume has moderated since the amazon announcement.

Fundamental wise, Singapore' s online grocery market is only 1.2% of the overall market.
