Wow ... europe, US futures all trend down ... they were up many days already ... a big big drop expected soon, esp today friday ... Oil also weak ... so expect this to trend lower now, monday can get cheap ... |

Not easy to reach 1.6 so fast with the oil weak. Given that it is holding rather well is good liao.

Pretty much that is how people buy these days. All very careful. But I think it stay abit higher then 1x because of this stock got temasek to back them. They also can diversify / focus their service into other business within the same sector. They still got cash and now the price is one of the all time low. Since close to book value, many investors are will to take a tiny risk for a bet of higher return when the oil goes up. This case is there is more upside then downside it seems. Like the other guy in here said the question is how long will the oil get depressed.
Oil just went down again.

Currently bad for m@e as buyer only wanna pay 1x book value meaning smm only can fetch like 1.20 to 1.30. Poor economy outlook everyone go cheapo.

Oil has chance to hit 60 by dec winter time when energy use go up ... if no also nevermind, this stock still support by merger rumours, rich papa, not to mentioned the ruthless measures the management are taking to cut cost and prepare for future growth ... short term, the recent " THe Edge" says this is " good for trading" ... |

My thoughts are pretty simple. The oil price are low now and a lot stop production even laid off the workers. The oil slip more due to reports of a lot of oil in storage etc.. last 10 years I was told oil is running out and we are screwed. Now the reports come again with too much oil. The world cannot stop using oil. So we keep using it and those in storage will run low in a matter of time. US output increase due to fracking but the rest of the oil producing countries have high cost to get their oil and current prices just not worth while to keep pumping. Even Saudi have to end the price war. Once the supply slows down the reports of demand go up will flood the market and oil will go back up again. What goes up must come down, I learn that when I was young. The other thing is where to find workers and laid off departments and trading compaines that close down so fast to come back if they want to increase output? There worker would have move into other business right? No oil job but still got to eat, need to find work in other industry. To piece everything back together will take time. This delay will likely result in a surge for oil and the report will kick in and push the oil up more. After a while the whole oil issue will stabilize and once price is high enough, drilling resume and orders will come in for semb. I am sure there are many more factors out there but this is pretty much the main driving force that I can piece together in my mind. Disclaimer: i got some shares related to oil. Just sharing my thoughts, comments are welcome so I can learn something. |
