Ken is right. THese Norwaigeans cannot be comiptetive with their high cost of wages and benifits. Their service engineers work on basis of two weeks on and four weeks off. Where in the world you have it like this????????????? |

VARD has capability to build specialised and non-OSV vessels. Beside the more popular PSV, AHTS, OSCV in recent years, they have also built: Cable Laying & Repair Vessel Fishing Vessel Forrage Carrier Icebreaking Tug IMO II Tanker for Oil & Petroleum Products Inspection Maintenance & Repair (IMR) Vessel LNG Powered Car- and Passenger Ferry LPG Carrier Multi Role Vessel Pipelay Vessel Research and surveillance vessel Seismic Vessel Special Purpose Vessel Stern Trawler Subsea Riserless Well Intervention Vessel Suction Hopper Dredger Survey Vessel Twin Screw double hull / double bottom oil tanker Well Intervention Construction Vessel I believe they ventured into O& G related vessel becos it was very lucrative then. Now the story is different but their tack record of non-OSV is there for all to see. So to go back to non-OSV is of no issue to them at all. But today there will be risk-off effect from US Presidential election plus huge run-up prior to this. Once it is confirmed Clinton wins, there will be another small rally before it release results on 11 Nov which can go either way depending on market xpectation? And what is market expectation? Based on recent run, it think they expect pretty good results which they might find disappointing. DYDD.

Not that I dont believe that it dont have potential, but almost every shipyard out there are STILL getting projects but at a ( lower ) profit margin plus higher difficulty in building more sophiscated vessels etc .. Now it nt the time to have profit earning like shooting stars
