The COVID fear is receding - economies are reopening fast, people are eating out and spending again in malls - crowded to the brims. They will be able to cruise again soon. Infrastructure and the need for renewable energy will continue to climb. SembCorp Industries, unshackled from SembMarine - will now climb to its true value. This is the same story for all other SGX real economy stocks, like banks, REITS, property counters etc etc. Time to wake up that the opportunities to buy dirt cheap long expired in March.

Net profit from SCI&rsquo s renewable energy portfolio has increased by a CAGR of 67.6% per year from FY16 &ndash FY19. As a proportion of total net profit from Energy, this has increased from just over 2% to 8.4% in FY19. Going forward, we expect SCI to grow their renewables energy footprint in key markets in Singapore, China, India and the UK. In Singapore, construction of the 60 MWp floating solar photovoltaic system on Tengeh Reservoir (see Figure 27) commenced last month. Sembcorp Industries has announced a 20-year deal to support the Singapore operations, including a new data center, of tech giant Facebook with renewable power. In an official announcement on Tuesday, Sembcorp said it would supply Facebook with renewable energy via offsite solar panels installed on almost 900 rooftops in Singapore. The project is expected to finish in 2020. Facebook announced it was building a data center in Singapore at the beginning of September. Its fifteenth worldwide and first in Asia, the facility will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy. &ldquo This agreement represents our first step towards supporting our Singapore data center and local offices with 100 percent renewable energy,&rdquo Bobby Hollis, head of Global Energy at Facebook, said in a statement Tuesday. Hollis added that the business was &ldquo excited to see the continued acceleration in the growth of the renewable energy market in Singapore.&rdquo The agreement with Sembcorp is the latest clean energy deal struck by Facebook as it looks to green its operations. In July, for example, it was announced that the company&rsquo s Prineville Data Center in Oregon would be supported by 100 percent solar power under a new partnership with Pacific Power. Additionally, all of Facebook&rsquo s offices at its headquarters in Menlo Park, California, are powered by 100 percent renewable energy.

What was the typical EPS for SCI (without Marine segment) in a typical year ? 15 to 20 cents eps ? ...multiple this eps by PE of 15. So that is the typical price level in a few years time ? |

Of course...their backup power helped UK avert a major blackout last year or 2018...can' t rememver.. That' s why I long term SCI SH and supporter.....but kenna beaten until blue black for many years...
