PhillipTan      ( Date: 28-Aug-2021 01:25) Posted: Yes to your question, you still can apply for excess in that scenario which you painted From my understanding of how rights issues work - For unrenounceable rights issue, rights are tied to shares You can' t sell the rights, but you can sell the shares If you sell the shares, you are no longer eligible to participate in the rights issue Most rights issues are unrenounceable rights issue - For renounceable rights issue, rights are not tied to shares Rights can be sold or transferred Anyone who has the rights are eligible to participate in the rights issue and anyone without the rights will not be eligible to take part in the rights issue When they conduct the rights issue exercise, they will first determine the eligible parties by the rights holders instead of the actual shareholders who were distributed with the rights Then they will distribute the rights shares first based on the rights entitlement, and then any excess will be alloted to those who applied for excess rights shares So if you sell 150k, you still can apply for 150k as per your entitlement,  plus excess rights shares if you choose to do so but will depend on the subscription rate But if you sell all 300k, then you cannot apply for anything since you are not entitled to anything, not even excess rights shares as you are no longer an eligible party to the rights issue ​ Hope this is clear enough for your understanding   Sunbrighten      ( Date: 27-Aug-2021 23:28) Posted: philips thanks for your reply. btw, i am holding 200,000 shares, my rights entitlement will be 300,000 shares, on 31 august, if i sell my rights shares partially 150,000 instead of all my entitlement, do i still entitle to apply excess rights shares? thanks
