x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Brothers!  Tech shares in US and Asia have gone up too much in past one year. AMAT alone (ums chief customer)has increased in share price by 80%. So it is normal to take profit and switch to banks like what is happening in US. Fundamentally there is nothing wrong with technology shares. I for one intend to hold. MARKETS CAN GO UP AND DOWN BUT DIVIDENDS  ARE FOREVER! UPCOMING DIVIDENDS (2c final and 1c special in 2016) SHOULD BE MORE IN 2017!

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	In 2016, Q4 dividends (announced on 28 Feb 2017) were: final div 2c plus special div 1c.  Together with 1c div for Q1, Q3 and Q3, total div for 2016 was a very generous SIX CENTS! Better than putting $100k in POSB for 12 months and getting back $50. If you had invested $100k in UMS you would have gotten back $600 in div excluding capital gains and bonus issue. This year (2017) should be even better given the improvement in trading results as well as cash balance.

As long this company keep showing splendid result and giving out decent dividend, it is good to keep it for long term. Don't expect it to growth unrealistically, but a decent growth over long term is possible.
