Not sure if our vaccine strategy is correct.
Medical staff, yes they are in close contact. But they are also the highest awareness and PPE protected. The highest risk are those fronting the mass but cannot be PPE protected, such as hospitality workers. |

it' s always a gamble, or a better word calculated risk.. nothing is 100% sure and we have to always made a gamble/calculated risk in life.. even with the vaccine, like all other vaccine, it doesnt give 100% full protection, and we dunno how long immunity would last, whether new mutations would require tweaking of the vaccine (which mean re-inoculation all over again), whether got any long term side effects which are not able to pick up in study.. but with current information on vaccine, govt around the world think that it is an acceptable risk to inoculate their ppl, weighing the health risk vs economy.. currently right now, govt around the world wanted to restart the economy, with the rich and influential wanting to protect their wealth.. as far as possible, they will feed us with information that would encourage ppl to take vaccine.. so there is this concern that vaccine could be rolled out that quickly on the consideration of economic pressure rather than the desire to protect lifes.. virus go through natural selection, which eventually the virus likely would become more transmissible but less deadly so that it can spread more.. it will be about the perception of ppl on how they fear covid, and this fear depends on the extent of side effects & fatality rate.. currently right now covid has about 2% fatality rate, which is quite a significant amount if it were to spread globally.. millions actually die of flu every year, but cos the fatality rate is lower and there' s vaccine to some extent of efficacy, so ppl deem it as an acceptable risk to let flu circulate..

I would say that it is not taking the gamble to travel. It is going through the recovering process, since vaccine already rolled out. If without vaccine, then it is a gamble to resume traveling. Now is just the time for recovering. How long the vaccine will take for things to turn the corner. Then we can start to travel and increase the percentage slowly. All the best to all. We want our economies to be back on its foot.

and ironically the top economies in the world happen to have tonnes of covid cases.. so they will really need to bring their figures down to a minimum before govt consider opening up to them.. they need to have herd immunity with most ppl getting inoculated in order to bring the covid cases to minimum, but that might not be possible given that many ppl over there have doubts on vaccine.. if globally we have many countries still impose those quarantine measures and ban tourists to travel, then it is hard for travelling to happen.. it' s all about the perception of ppl towards covid.. if somehow ppl start to embrace covid as part of their lifes (like common flu) and willing to take the gamble of having about 2% chance of dying and start to return to normal lifes, only then travelling would resume

many poorer countries would probably need to wait till 2022-23 before they start inoculation.. given that vaccine access are mainly bought & given to the rich countries, air travel will take many years to return to pre-covid level.. ppl might also be hesitant to take the vaccine, and with the mutations going on, there could be a chance that vaccine need to keep tweaking to keep up with mutations.. i guess by end 2021, air travel may be reach back to 30% of pre-covid level, 50% by end 2022, and maybe 5 years later to reach back to pre-covid levels.. all this will also depend on the perception of ppl towards covid.. if ppl still fear covid, they may be hesitant to travel to regions with still high covid cases..

My analysis as quoted in the following. So I expect SIA to fly in Feb 2021 onwards. True that Jan 2021 will see some price moving, bcos BB wake up from hibernation. But the actual movement is when vaccine   data   release which i forsee it to be very good
