Exited Watchlist by default as they downgraded to Catalist. Lazada deal must be formally concluded by 3 Jun 2021. It?s not big deal as transmitting to ?LazMall?, Lazada?s premium shopping platform wouldn?t be difficult as bulk of FJB products had already shifted to online mode since Jun 2020 ( no thanks to Covid 19).
What may be a sticking point will be how Lazada is going to kick out others who are selling the same items that FJB has exclusive rights to sell in this region. There is a fella from a HDB flat in Tampines selling many of the same items sold by FJB! And his prices are cheaper than FJBs too!! By August 2021, Singapore should have opened up significantly and tourists from both Indonesia and Malaysia should be here. I think the Great Singapore SALE will also be revived somewhat. Bottomline : Things improving from period which led Peter Lim to trim down his holdings in FJB. So, can say the worst is over for FJB.
