WHERE would the local mkt be if not for the penny segment? In yesterday's session, STI Index gained 4.97 points to 3,133.76 in mainly listless trading, but penny marine stks sprang into hectic play ahead of the listing of offshore counter Kim Heng Offshore and Marine today.

Turnover remained low in dollar terms at $955.7 mil but volume done of 3.3 billion units suggested heavy activity in low-priced issues.

This was confirmed by the average unit value of 28 cents and the fact that the top 20 actives were all priced below 20 cents.

" With Fed tapering expected to result in blue chips being hit, nobody wants to touch those stocks," said a dealer.

" Better to play with the pennies, especially those that have a decent story."

In a bear mkt, players short n win, and in a bull or super bull mkt, players long can win in almost every stk bot.

Those in between bear and or bull, up / down are mean for players with deep pockets and all dependable on mkt forces.

Got to respect mkt players n see who are those got deep$, very deep$ pocket

(BBs vs BBs vs Contraians vs Retailers vs owner kakis plus many outside influence from insttiutional investors n speculators who can openingly declare their shot.

What you say, i agree with you.
But, pessimistic or optimistic is not relevant it depends on individual trading skills.

Everything come at a cost, losing & wining is part of learning process.
But only 10% of people trading will emerge as successful.
