Not to forget, US$ has gone up from 1.35/36 to now 1.42, a good 4-5% increase. Their US$33.7 holding will lead to S$1.3M foreign exchange profit. In addtion, the cost which is in MYR continue to reduce. |

I' m wondering how Trump administration going to fund the infras expenditure and cut in income taxes. Where is he going to get the money when Obama has been increasing the debt ceiling to fund the operation of his government. FED has already committed to gradual rate hike as not to kill the economy. |

I realise the pattern of those media nowaday. When every media pointing at certain direction....most likely actual things will no go toward that direction.
Media are highly manipulated and thus think should not trust so much on them....just look at figures. |

Why report loss when its cost is only 500+? last Q all-in-cost is not accurate due to drop in production as a result of work stoppage?

My average was 24 cents. Average down from 35 cents to 17.8 cents. I asked myself then, why no one was interested with this profit making company with PE ratio only 4-5 times. They were already a money making company. My conclusion was that at that time no one was interested in Gold investment especially when Morgan Stanely telling the investors Gold could hit $800. At that time, gold was at 10++ to 11++. Thus far, the worst crisis for CNMC was the production work stoppage which led to trading halt. The lowest price was 36.5 cents. This serves as the floor price of CNMC price. Will it sinks to 40 cents? For now, I don' t see it going towards this as all bad news except for 2017 FED rate forward guidance.are priced in.

The market has priced in the rate hike in Dec and yet Gold did not break 1200. That' s a good sign for now. It will depend on what the FED going to say about the number of increase in 2017. I doubt that they are crystal clear about it, especially when Trump taking office, and likely will be vague in giving forward guidance on future rate hike. So, I see price has bottom for both Gold and CNMC. I can' t keep up with the dynamic movement. Sold at 50.5, 48, bought back at 46. I think next week should see price going up, back towards 48 (resistance). |

personally, I like the potential offered by CNMC, with their competitive advantage of being able to keep production costs low so if gold prices improve, the margin will widen however when it comes to mining companies, there is inevitably a correlation with the commodity price (in this case, gold prices). the spot prices for gold have not been fantastic to be honest post Trump and the volatility is likely to persist until perhaps Jan when his proposed policies become more visible if they are indeed coming onboard. with the correction in share price of CNMC, good to pick-up some if you are investing in the long term prospects but will have to bear with the near-term volatility as the macro aspect continues to be surrounded with market noise. just my two cents worth. |

How can you compare half a year ago and now as many things have changed that support higher price for this counter. The record gold output, the production method has changed, the licence extended to 2034 and unlimited mining, the acquisition of Pulai mining etc. All these are supporting the growth of the company and potential of the company.

Hello Pals, I have this thoughts, while the US Dollar is rising, gold slide, what do you think of the people in those countries that are affected by the drop in their currencies against the dollar. Most of them will buy physical gold to hedge their asset. And where do you think of this physical come from? Moreover, India is going thru a period of festive season whereby most couples get married at this time of the year....think about their buying power....most of the time, year end is the period of gold surge...Hope this helps... |

Sorry, for pulai mine why do u categorize this as " maintain/continue" iso " growth" ? I will consider this as the former, if the company does not continue to mine the existing mines , and need pulai to replace to sustain business. If pulai mines are added areas, then I will consider this as add on, thereby potentially grow opportunity.

Thank you for reminging me these changes, as a mining and processing company, if these were not secured, the company might have already vanished. So many may not consider these changes as growth, but only to " maintain or continue" their business.

more likely to swing to lower, not surprise to see 40c, if you look back a few months ago, it is just 20-30c. The company does not change, but its share price has risen more than 100%. |
